When you were a kid playing with other kids you acted a a child. You were probably a bit selfish, wanted everything to go your way and pouted when you didn’t get what you wanted. Sometimes you even sought revenge. That was understandable back then–you were just a kid. Look around today’s world. How much of a difference do you see? Think sports, politics, societal issues like gun laws, abortion, etc. We witness childlike responses from all corners of our internal citizenry and we see a world full of the same juvenile actions. There have always been a “right wing” and a “left wing” or conservatives and liberals among us. But never have there been such extreme positions on both ends of the spectrum as there are today. And as part of the distance between viewpoints we eliminated the word “compromise” from our vocabulary. Does this sound childish to you? is the only difference between kids and adults a matter of age and height? Do we really learn nothing as we “mature”? Until we step back from childish ways the future is indeed uncertain.
