Ok, so the last three justices added to the Supreme Court lied during their job interviews. They all said they would respect Roe v. Wade as the law of the land. Then they didn’t when they opined on the Texas and Mississippi abortion laws. In fact they blessed a feature of the Texas law that promotes bounty hunting so that an individual can earn $10,000 by “ratting” on anyone they think is violating the new law. Great country–huh? And now we learn that Justice Thomas’ wife was urging the January 6th shenanigans on via E mails/texts. Further, her husband, Clarence, a Supreme Court Justice, happened to vote twice on decisions that would have obscured documents/phone calls/other information about the White House involvement with the attack on the US Capitol. Can you believe that Mr. Thomas did not discuss these events with Mrs. Thomas–as they have both stated? Imagine sharing a bed with someone during a Constitutional crisis of biblical proportions with one party an outspoken activist and the other a Supreme Court Justice? Do you really think it was not discussed? Mrs. Thomas vehemently supported the “stop-the steal” movement that Mr. Thomas refused to recuse himself from in the voting process. FYI, justices have refrained from such votes in the past on many, many occasions for far less involvement. Did Mr. Thomas not know that; did he try to hide that; was he doing the will of his wife when he voted (he was the ONLY justice who voted to obscure the information)? If we didn’t have Merrick Garland (AKA “wuss”) as the Attorney General there would have been at least an investigation launched into this situation. But Garland doesn’t want to actually do the job; he just likes the attention. And so the soap opera we call SCOTUS continues to disintegrate into politics. The three legged stool of government is leaning heavily away from independent and fair pursuit of justice and integrity is on trial whether we like it or not.
