Ok, we know you’ve been hammered with COVID numbers for a long time and you’re a bit tired of the same old story of how bad it is and how bad it might get. Please forgive us for one more stat that will define the success of our managing the pandemic. A bit of history…in the 1918 pandemic, we were fighting a World War, had no vaccines and were forced to ship thousands of service men and women into heavy contagion areas. The final numbers: 1918 PANDEMIC: 50 million people died world-wide. 675,000 Americans died. Americans accounted for 1.3% of all deaths. Fast forward to 2019+, 5.4 million people have died world-wide and 821,000 (as of this writing) Americans have died. In other words, despite several vaccines, numerous medical therapies post-infection, 100+ years of medical advances, the best health care delivery system on the planet, and NO world war, America has suffered more than 15% of ALL WORLD-WIDE COVID DEATHS. Does that speak well of our management of this catastrophe? Imagine, several Third World countries and several countries larger than the US had far fewer deaths. If you remember no other stat–please recall that our death rate is more than 10 times that of the rest of the world–despite all the advantages we enjoy. And it will continue to grow because of the unvaccinated. That should demonstrate what vaccine mandate failures are causing. So, the next time you hear that a mandate has been ruled out by a stupid, politically-leaning judge just add more bodies to the count and hope the next mutation doesn’t outflank our proven vaccines,
