Netlist is an Irvine, California based software company that may be pulling off a unique coup. Twelve years ago Netlist offered to sell a piece of software to Google but they decided not to buy it. The courts have now rendered a final legal opinion and found Google guilty of patent infringement. The findings note that Google used this stolen Netlist patent for the past 12 years and, because it’s viewed as a seminal patent, suggests that Google would not have been nearly as profitable without the stolen article. Google’s profits during those 12 years approached $ 1 trillion. Damages could run into the billions with royalties going forward for Netlist. Google is a $1.7 trillion enterprise; Netlist is at best a $1.0+ company. Talk about David and Goliath!!! You should Google Netlist for the whole story….
