On January 20, 2025, Donald J. Trump swore an oath when he was inaugurated the 47th president of the United States. His oath included “I will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”. That turned out to be a lie. In fact, when asked whether he was expected to act according the Constitution, he said he didn’t know–that he’d have to check with his lawyers. And after nearly 8 months he has violated the Constitution several times–WITHOUT ANY BLOWBACK FROM CONGRESS OR THE US SUPREME COURT. Is “down” finally “up”? Is “left” finally “right”? To list some of his criminal transgressions: (1) violating the rights of individuals without due process; (2) suggesting that he might run for a third term; (3) committing acts of war on Iran and Venezuela without Congressional approval; (4) questioning birthright citizenship; (5) inflicting tariffs without any Congressional approval; and (6) he’s using his office to amass a fortune in crypto currency (emoluments clause). Compared to Article Ii, Section 4: The president…shall be removed from office on Impeachment for…other high crimes or misdemeanors”, what does it take for our elected leaders to stop his criminality? Answer: guts, speaking truth to power, placing the welfare of the country over the selfish protection of party. Sorry, nobody’s home here. The GOP is supportive of this total fraud and the Dems are silent. Two quotes come to mind: (1) this will be the land of the free as long as it is the home of the brave; and (2) evil triumphs when good men do nothing. It’s obvious to us at “anothersview” that Trump is bankrolling his office of president for purely selfish gains. Until voter constituents demand change at the ballot box we are adrift in the hands of an empowered grifter.
