We are fast approaching the Labor Day holiday for 2025. On September 1st we will again pause to pay our respects to all the men and women in this country who go about their daily tasks from office to farm to all kinds of labors that make this country the great country that it is. Each holiday we observe should remind us of how lucky we have been throughout these last 250 plus years. As an individual once said “This will be the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” Credit a New York Times editor named Elmer Davis, who’s insight into what makes this country as great as it is is a jarring reminder of how delicate that greatness is. Until bravery in the face of power and abuse and injustice return to the national scene we are in danger of losing our freedoms. It was never more obvious than observing the path we are on right now. Take heed, America, your future is in jeopardy like never before.
