We’ve been providing several misleading headlines that appear in various newspapers over the past few months. These (basically) lies are intended to foster/fester your dislike for the current Washington administration. Our spotlighting these untruths is an attempt to balance the scales.

  • HEADLINE: “SURVEY: AMERICANS SAY THEY FEEL FINANCIALLY UNSTABLE”: The article reports inflation at 21%–obviously untrue. The story prominently reports that housing and college bills area concern. When weren’t they a concern? Survey respondents were asked how much more income they’d need to feel secure. Of course they pumped the number up–who wouldn’t? So the reporters conclusion is that most Americans are unhappy with their economic situation. The survey, its questions and their interpreted answers were all bogus,
  • HEADLINE: “AGE THREATENS TO BLOWN UP BIDEN CAMPAIGN”: Our reason for pointing this out; Joe Biden is guilty of showing his age in the debate and his follow up news conference. But that can happen as a “slip-of-the-tongue” moment to anyone. This headline was written by a college-educated journalist, proofed by a supposedly skilled proof-reader and spell-checked as part of the printing process–AND THEY STILL GOT IT WRONG!! Sometimes watching the process is not re-assuring. Remember, it’s the final result that counts.
  • HEADLINE: “CBO (Congressional Budget Office) PROJECTS US DEFICIT TO JUMP TO $1.9 T (TRILLION): The article mentions that this will be the second consecutive year that the Biden Administration faced a substantial deficit. It fails to mention that the deficit might have been a surplus if the former president (Trump) hadn’t enacted a $3.2 trillion tax cut for his wealthy friends. It also fails to mention that many of the contributing expense items had been in place for years and would have been impossible to eliminate. And, finally, the story fails to mention that the GOP voted for many of the budget lines that were causing the deficit. THIS WASN’T ALL JOE BIDEN’S FAULT…IT’S A SHARED GOP BLAME–AT THE VERY LEAST.

Our suggestion: remember that all media is owned and operated by people who have political leanings. Just like FOX news admitted that it lied about political information to stoke ratings, maintain viewers and profits from advertisers–Gannett (USA Today) and others have dark motives and will gladly lie to you to achieve those objectives.
