Let’s pick on Alabama…why–because they earned it. A few months ago, Senator Tuberville distinguished himself by holding up hundreds of service member’s promotions, transfers and pay increases because approval would be allowing female service members to cross state lines for abortions. That stunt enraged everyone concerned with military readiness, fair play, common sense and even sub-moronic IQ’s. We can just speculate on how many votes he lost for the GOP by making a fool of himself. Next, we turn to the Alabama Supreme Court. In their infinite wisdom and full of religious (BS) zeal they concluded that frozen embryos are actually minor children having all the rights of a kindergartener. They continued the farce by requiring In Vitro Fertilization clinics to face liability for various acts that might endanger the frozen embryos. To be clear, we know that acorns aren’t little oak trees, flower seeds aren’t flowers and embryos–until they’re planted in the womb–are not about to become children. IVF clinics promptly closed their doors and stopped all IVF treatments immediately. Prospective parents exploded in the faces of their “leaders” and elected politicians ran for cover–not knowing how to answer obviously embarrassing questions. Within 10 days the Alabama legislature passed laws to solve the problem created by the Alabama (not so) Supreme Court. The latest guffaw was delivered by Katie Britt, Alabama’s other senator. In delivering the GOP reply to the Biden State of the Union Address, she clearly made a fool of herself. She implied that Biden–because of his failed border policy–was responsible for a 12 year old girl to be raped daily and sex trafficked for years. The truth was that it happened almost 20 years ago when a Republican was president and Biden had nothing to do with the incidents. But the rest of the story is that Biden is pushing the GOP to accept the GOP’s own proposal for a border policy but they refuse to pass or even bring to vote the solution to the problem. Katie Britt knows this and has actually VOTED AGAINST PASSAGE OF THAT SOLUTION. So if you’re ‘Alabamy bound’ we suggest you take earplugs and don’t listen to any newscast while there–unless, of course, you want a good laugh.
