Our headlines are overflowing. Trump legal issues, wars in Ukraine and Israel, weather disturbances, mass shootings, police brutality, abortion activism, and so much more grab our collective attention. It seems like only the mass media prioritizing of news items has saved the Supreme Court from the scrutiny it deserves. Failure to disclose valuable gifts, weak arguments in defense of mega donor involvements, special treatment for spouses…every day another brick is added to the pile. We post this item to keep the SCOTUS problem in view. Trust in the highest court in America is dwindling and, like all trust situations. it will be very tough to re-earn. Because the high court is clearly dominated by the politically conservative viewpoint our self-governing prudence is also under attack. If we can’t trust the court to set the tone for fair play, honesty and integrity how do we expect the majority of people to accept its decisions? The unjustified elimination of Roe v. Wade is a clear example of perjured justices, unreasoned overturning of an approved legal precedent and political interference. And with that decision the court has accomplished a huge societal divide that will surely galvanize pro-choice advocates. The move will backfire when GOP candidates lose in record numbers in 2024. So watch the court as we approach the 2024 election. You may find some interesting and unexpected decisions as the court seeks redemption.
