These are short observations about news stories with “another view” you won’t see or hear in the media.

  • Last week the Food and Drug Administration approved a drug that will cost $3.5 million/dose. Imagine that someone in your medical plan needs a 30 day supply. What do you think will happen to the cost of your plan?
  • “pro-lifers” profess Christian ethics as they fight for anti-abortion laws. These same “pro-lifers” take large campaign donations from the National Rifle Association and other pro-gun groups in exchange for blocking ANY meaningful gun law restrictions. Nationally crimes involving guns are significantly higher than last year and the number of mass shootings–using assault-style rifles– are a weekly occurrence. We’ve seen more than 500 massacres in each of the past 2 years. Maybe for the “pro-lifers” only newborns are worthy of protecting. After that–it’s every man/woman a target.
  • Kraft is being sued by a Ms. Ramirez who clams that the cooking instructions on Velveta cheese are inaccurate. She says the label informs her that the cheese should melt in 3.5 minutes but it really takes longer. Can anyone say “get a life”?
  • As an example of stupidity, Danial Cameron, the Kentucky Attorney General, announced his candidacy for Governor next time around. His main platform plank is TOTAL ABORTION BANNING. Since Kentucky voters just said “no” to a similar ballot issue and 70% of the country favor abortion on some basis we think this GOP candidate shows the same lack of intelligence as many in the midterms. When anyone campaigns on the minority side of popular issues THEY LOSE. Enough said!
  • China is relenting on its COVID “zero tolerance” policy under public riot pressure. They have never had an effective vaccine and refused those who offered to supply one. There are 2 consequences here: (1) China–as the world’s second largest economy–will not be able to maintain supply chain items thereby causing shortages and price increases in the short term; and (2) as long as COVID exists among a billion people its chances of mutating beyond the reach of known vaccines continue to grow. Someone needs to remind them that the whole world is at risk as long as they fail to control the virus.
