The Trump Administration continues to chip away at the foundation of our beloved democracy. Even with a firm commitment, it is difficult to keep up with all the unethical and illegal activities going on in Washington. We, at anothersview, will always reflect on corroborated facts and give you our comments–few of which you will see in any media outlet. We have the freedom to predict as long as we clearly state that we are predicting. Those comments will be based on whatever firmly factual information we can count on to be accurate. Today’s postings are in no particular order. You’ll see that many of the topics are related. And, spoiler alert, this posting reflects recent political events so be prepared for a dose of negativity.
THE PERSECUTION OF DR. ANTHONY FAUCI
If ever there was a miscarriage of justice, the Congressional contempt charge against Dr. Fauci is it. Based on the number of lives saved and the amount of suffering he avoided for millions of Americans, Dr. Fauci should be afforded hero status. He deserves the highest civilian award we can bestow. Instead, because he opposed COVID solutions promoted by Trump and won the respect of millions for championing vaccines he is the target of GOP members of Congress. This is outrageous on so many levels. When Trump was recommending the gargling of bleach, hawking hydroxychloroquine (an ineffective drug), and warm weather to kill COVID Dr. Fauci diplomatically dodged Trump’s idiotic statements and solved the problem. He tried valiantly not to make Trump out to be the fool that he is while solving the problem under severe time constraints. And for that effort he is being held in contempt. He took the Fifth Amendment not to incriminate himself during his congressional visit. But remember how several Federal subpoenas were issued during Trump’s two impeachment trials and NONE OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS EVEN SHOWED UP TO TESTIFY. Again, two standards, one applied to Trump and one applied to his perceived enemies. Hopefully, Dr. Fauci will survive the persecution. There seems to be a planned gofundme effort to alleviate some of his legal bills. We will certainly support that cause. And we hope our readers will too.
SUSPICIOUS NUMBERS
Our blog advised readers some time ago that Trump’s incompetence would start showing up in the stats provided by various government agencies. Well, apparently Trump realized that too so he took steps to hide reality from the public disclosure. First, he talked the Supreme Court into allowing him to control all agencies that had been for decades “independent”. Then, he replaced key experienced personnel with suck ups who had scant qualifications for their jobs. Then–to insure his hiding from reality–he changed the composition of the numbers. Example: Inflation with his tariffs is driving prices up so he changed the Consumer Price Index to EXCLUDE FOOD AND GAS PRICES. His explanation is that these higher costs are only temporary and should not be included in Bureau of Labor Statistics published numbers. You are paying higher prices but only as long as tariffs and the Iranian war continue. By the way, tariffs have been in place in one form or another for 16 months and the Iranian war is in its 7th month. So, to ignore the price increase on food and gas is ludicrous. You’re paying for gas 2/3 times a month and food every day. Also, Trump is changing other stats to make it seem like he’s not the incompetent moron we all know him to be. Be careful of any info you read. Either the components, the personnel or the wording of the info is probably tainted.
THE ECONOMY
The economy is usually described in terms of inflation, job creation, unemployment stats, changes in the Gross Domestic Product and the stock market. But, in today’s world, Trump has his defensive hands in all the reliable numbers we see. We already said how he is corrupting the inflation numbers and they still show the doubling up since he took office. Job creation is virtually zero under Trump’s second term. In fact, over the last 20 years, nearly 42 million new jobs were created. But few happened under Trump’s second term. In fact, one month saw a decline and, over 18 months less than 10,000 manufacturing jobs were created. Remember, we’re paying huge tariffed prices and filling his pockets while the return of manufacturing jobs isn’t happening. GDP, the measure of economic growth, is stagnant–about 2.3. Economists set the annual goal at 3% minimum for a healthy job market, stable prices and reasonable interest rates. That isn’t even predicted for next year. And then there’s the interest rate saga. Let’s explain this in the simplest way. The Federal Open Market Committee usually regulates interest rates to rein in inflation–if the economy is overheating. They will raise rates. but, if the economy is sluggish the “Fed” will lower rates to encourage businesses to build more plants, add another shift, re-tool, etc. This is what an economist might call “pump priming”. The Fed is expected to raise rates in September due to inflation despite Trump’s pressure that his new Fed chief, Kevin Warsh, lower rates. The problem is: inflation is high because of Trump’s tariffs so conventional rate movements may not bring about a typical result. We believe that a prolonged Iran situation will lead to a mild recession because Trump has taken so much capital out of the hands of consumers so purchasing power will shrink dramatically. The first signs will be the fourth quarter of 2026. Watch actual holiday sales figures–if Trump doesn’t taint those as well.
CLIMATE CHANGE IS SNEAKING UP ON US
The Trump clown show continues to destroy the planet while filling the pockets of political donors. The main culprits are ozone depletion and carbon dioxide emissions. The current Environmental Protection Agency (a misnomer of epic proportions) sets as policy to avoid renewable energy sources like wind and solar in favor of coal, natural gas and oil. These three pollutants are owned by Trump’s richest donor group so Trump protects them–NOT THE ENVIRONMENT. So, what has Trump done: he granted a $700 million subsidy to the coal industry (to get their votes); eliminated the auto makers miles-per-gallon target set by the Obama Administration (votes and funds); he allowed the tax credit for electric vehicle purchases to expire (votes and money from the auto industry); he eliminated efficiency standards for stoves and refrigerators (again vote-getters); he cancelled the Biden $500 million grant to convert the steel industry to less polluting processes. The net impact: July was the hottest month ever recorded in the US (depletion of the ozone level); drought in several areas of the US caused by torrential rains in concentrated areas causing super floods; Europe experiencing its hottest temps ever across the Continent. The reality: Trump is destroying the planet and your lungs by promoting pollution producing energy methods instead of cleaner renewable sources. He’s paying his donors with your lungs. Remember what we said a long time ago…If the conditions on earth get beyond control, in the short run, we will have major weather catastrophes. And, in the long run, the place may be uninhabitable. Either way, we need to change course NOW.
DANGEROUS SIGNS AS WE APPROACH THE MID TERM ELECTIONS
There is no doubt that Trump will try every trick in the book to rig the November elections. Gerrymandering, mail-in vote restrictions, the SAVE Act are just some of the moves he’s made so far. But he will continue because he knows that a majority shift in Congress to the Democratic side will lead to impeachment, removal and probably jail. Two very clear events happened recently: (1) Todd Blanche, the Trump clone, was confirmed by Congress as Attorney General. His support for a slush fund to reward the thugs who beat up Capitol police and his continued revenge partnership with Trump should have disqualified him from any job in any government. But, thanks to the gutlessness of the GOP members of the Senate–especially John Cornyn and Bill Cassidy, he was confirmed. (Trump trashed Cornyn and Cassidy by supporting their opponents in their primary and they were fired by GOP voters. Despite being treated like garbage they voted for Blanche–how pathetic is that?) And the second event is the John Roberts decision to stay the pause in the ballroom building project. Trump–on his own and without any following of rules bulldozed the East Wing of the White House. He did not follow protocol. The history of any such renovation is clear. There is a commission set up with the responsibility to oversee any White House physical changes. Trump ignored them. Then he said “private donors only”–no taxpayer funds. Then he asked Congress for a one billion dollar grant for the ballroom. And with all that said, a Federal Judge called a halt to the project. Then Roberts, Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, gave the green light to proceed with the project. So, he has SCOTUS and Congress in his pocket heading to November. But the really conclusive proof that the election will be rigged is his consistent alienation of almost all large voter groups. He’s ticked off latinos, blacks, veterans, lower income families, military members, women voters and others. He wouldn’t be so quick to discard their vote if he thought the election was going to be fair. Watch as he comes up with more shenanigans and hope that the Dems are ready.
MIDTERM STRATEGY
We believe that Trump will use national security emergency power to take over the election. We think he’s hoping that Iran does something serious like a terrorist attack so that he can say that their presence is an implied threat. But, if that doesn’t happen, we believe that, out of desperation, Trump will go to extremes to make an event possible or maybe even to cause an event. We think the recent plane switch where Trump hid in a catering truck while allowing Rubio and others to fly in a plane that he thought might be attacked was a disappointment to him. Rubio and others are expendable if Trump can trade the for his justification to take over the election. It’s just that simple. We’re wondering what Rubio and the others thought when they realized that their boss considered them expendable. Karoline Leavitt quit. Maybe she was the only one who saw the writing on the wall and realized how far Trump would go to save his skin.
TARIFFS: HIS FAVORITE WORD AND THE CAUSE OF YOUR HIGHER PRICES
We, at anothersview, try to boil all the noise you hear down to simple terms so we can more easily explain our “take” on the presented facts. Tariffs, Trump said, Is “his favorite word”. It gives him the power to impact world commerce but at our expense. Tariffs are collected as goods enter the US. The added cost is passed along to the consumer who pays an inflated price. The tariff money stays with the Federal Government and you pay for it at your end of the business model. When the courts determined that Trump’s original tariffs were illegal he was told to return the $166 billion. So, ever the dealmaker, Trump decided to use the money to bribe his friends. He returned some of the funds to companies but none of it to you and me…even though we paid for the tariff when we bought the passed-along tariff cost. To-date, only Amazon has announced that it will return at least some of its tariff refund in the form of lower prices to customers. What should have happened? Trump should have established a tax credit for the 2026 Federal Tax Return of about $625 single/family. This would have paid back some of the added cost. It’s not a perfect way of handling the $166 billion but it’s a lot fairer, direct and more honest than using it to bribe companies. And now he’s added a new 50% tariff to many Canadian products. In the short term the impact is more higher prices for US consumers. In the long term, Canada will find other markets and leave Americans without product except at the higher Canadian tariffed prices. Sounds like a deal, right? Thank you, Trump.
FLOCK CAMERAS
We don’t get it. Flock cameras provide a huge opportunity to catch perps who break the law. Whether robbing a bank, assaulting a pedestrian, running a stop sign or committing any other crime, cameras provide irrefutable evidence/proof of the event. The only objection so far is that “big brother is watching”. OK, so what? If you’re living in a civilized society and obeying the law what harm do you think might befall you? We’re not oblivious to the fact that 90% of the drivers on the road break traffic laws constantly. And therein lies the rub. Speeders, stop sign runners, those who disregard stop lights, park in restricted zones or, more seriously, engage in road rage incidents are caught in the act. And they don’t like it. When a camera provides conclusive proof of a criminal act–no matter how small–and reports it to the authorities, well, that’s bound to elicit pain for the bad actor. Look at the advantages: safer roads, safer streets, fewer accidents and road rage incidents, lower insurance rates due to fewer accidents. We think this surveillance outrage is like the 400 pound individual who complains about the high cost of health care insurance. He’s a major part of the problem so he gripes. Just like the habitual speeder who complains that somebody will ticket him. Problem solved…put the cameras everywhere. Only those who break the laws will be offended. The rest of us will be safer.
INCOMPETENCE SHOWING UP AGAIN
Trump has fired all the qualified experienced staffers at every agency–thanks to the Supreme Court ruling. His replacements are as incompetent as he is in their jobs. Case in point…The recent outbreak of cyclosporiasis has been traced to a Mexican farm operated by Taylor Farms. First, it took several weeks to track it down–all the while people got sick–because Trump not only reduced the Food and Drug Administration staff but he also installed his clowns in their place. Second, During the Biden Administration a new process was established called “The Food Traceability Act”. The law applied to this situation but, when the FDA discovered that Taylor Farms had donated $1 million to the Trump SuperPac in March, 2025, the matter was referred to Trump who decided not to enforce the law. In fact, the Food Traceability Act will now become effective in 2028. Greed, corruption, incompetence, bribery and the safety of the American public. By the way, Taylor Farms was cited 10 times in the previous 14 years but, with the reduced staff and only incompetent staffers, the plant hadn’t been adequately inspected for a long while. This is just a symptom of what is to come. Insiders say that food processor plant inspections had been done every 1 to 2 years; now they’re done every 5 to 7 years and the processors are told in advance when their next inspection will happen. Happy eating!!!!
SIGNS OF TROUBLE AT THE FDA
After 13 months of less-than-kiss-the-ring loyalty, the head of the Food and Drug Administration was kicked to the curb. Trump’s new choice is Dr. Heidi Overton whose credentials are only part of the story. Heidi is not a proponent of vaccines–despite being a doctor. She does embrace the dietary regimen of her boss, RFK Jr.–no surprise there. She inherits a staff of incompetent unqualified sycophants who take orders directly from Trump or Stephen Miller. Just like the Taylor Farms situation, the policies of the FDA will now be governed by who gave the most money to Trump’s fund. But now we introduce a much bigger dimension. Think about drug approvals involving billions of dollars that could impact the health of millions of Americans and the profitability of major insurance companies. Example: how much do you think Nordisk would pay Trump to mandate insurance companies to cover weight loss drugs like Wegovy? The stroke of a pen on an Executive Order would at the same time time increase profits at the drug company and the insurance company while filling Trump’s pockets with bribes. He could justify the EO by saying it’s a good move in the long run. But that is yet to be proven or calculated. IT WOULD DEFINITELY INCREASE THE COST OF HEALTH CARE INSURANCE FOR EVERY INSURED CITIZEN. Knowing Trump’s transactional nature–what are the chances? And there is NO recourse. Bottom line: he has a suck up in charge, billions on the table and exclusive authority to sweep it all up. Only voiceless citizens lose.
QUICKIES….
Let’s lighten the mood a bit with a variety of subjects…
consumer financial protection board: recently the CFPB told its staff not to be “too aggressive” on its review of financial firms. Apparently, Trump wants to create an environment where he can exert varying amounts of pressure when it suits his needs. The man is sneaky and will no doubt be ready to pounce.
LIV; the saudi golf tour: as predicted the Saudi golf tour is dead as of today. The Wealth Fund kicked in several billion dollars to split up professional golfers a few years ago. Why? Saudi Arabia has very few golfers, the climate is terrible and no one saw a payback through ad money. After trying to find other financial backing, the tour season ends today (and forever) in Indianapolis. Now the problem of absorbing the players back into the US and European tours begins. It won’t be pretty. They’re are some raw feelings out there. And the US PGA is planning major changes to its schedule next year. Sounds like a complete reboot, new schedule, players, money purses, locations, etc. Stay tuned.
song of the year: a distasteful lyric: The recording “Rein Me In” topped most charts in the US and The UK for many weeks this year. We looked at the words and they contain the dreaded “F word”. Now we know most kids have heard that word, maybe even used it. But when popular music is encouraged that includes such a crude term, we should wonder where have civility and courtesy gone? The more we honor these terms the less anyone will avoid them and they become common language words. Ask yourself: would you want your child singing this “song” to your Mother? That should answer your objection.
new birthright challenge: Trump will not accept the court ruling that birthright is a Constitutional right. He’s now seeking to use a loophole in the law that was designed to allow the deportation of individuals if their actions or previous deception on becoming citizens are unlawful…like if someone lied on their application for citizenship. This investigation is extremely costly and time-consuming, so much so that only 400 instances have been recorded in our entire history. Trump is wasting resources, time and money to find needles in a haystack and he may never find even one person to deport on this charge.
board of peace chairman: Trump, as Chairman, decision-maker, member selector and head henchman, has indicated that he will “bomb the hell out of Oman” and begin bombing water treatment plants, bridges in Iran. These are all war crimes but who’s going to charge him? We wonder how many countries who pledged their allegiance to this Board are glad they did–now that the ally bloc is changing.
hitler practice: Last week marked the date in 1933 when the German Reichtag (legislature) gave Hitler full control of Germany’s fate. That same action almost happened here with the birthright case before the Supreme Court. IF SCOTUS had sided with Trump’s Executive Order and amended the US Constitution without Congress they would have set the precedent that Trump’s EO’s are legal and binding. Then all those people who are asking “what rights did Trump take away today?” would have an answer. All of those guaranteed by law. If he violate the Constitution with an Executive Order, he cannot be stopped from inflicting control on every state. WE CAME THAT CLOSE TO HITLER’S 1933 GERMANY!!!
what’s in a name?: Have you heard the term “Democratic Socialists” or “Communists”? The GOP is trying to convince its shrinking base that Dems will give all our tax money to illegal immigrants. And the bulk of this 33% of voters are actually swallowing the words. The irony is, of course, that Trump has added more to the national debt than any president in history by far. It took 192 years to reach the first trillion dollars in debt; but Trump needed only the last 6 months to add the last trillion. And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, most of that money went into the hands of Trump and his billionaire donors. Still think illegal immigrants siphoning off your tax dollars is the main problem?
strange bedfellows: Michael Cohen, Trump’s once favorite lawyer (“I’d take a bullet for Donald”) had written a book and created a podcast aimed squarely at criticizing Trump. He even spent 3 years in jail for helping Trump commit the election obstruction violation. Of course, Trump didn’t sit a in jail even one day. But now, Cohen is back sucking up to Trump. Knowing that both of these characters are slimy it wouldn’t surprise us if Cohen has evidence against Trump and is now blackmailing Trump to regain his prominence in new York legal circles. Cohen might even be in line for a role in the Attorney General’s office. This will get interesting.
data centers: fending off the inevitable: Ok, we get it. The future demands AI, expanded chip production and a do-or-die race with China and others to win the tech battle. And data centers seem to be an essential part of the equation. But we’re wondering why there is so much discord over data centers. Citizens are rising up in strong opposition saying that their utility rates will go up. At the risk of sounding obvious, there are several solutions; (1) make the data centers pay their own separate usage; (2) use wind turbines and solar panels on the their expansive roofs; (3) locate near water sources and try to employ river current as much as possible. The centers must be built on a now basis and they will create thousands of jobs that will produce growth for the communities and tax revenue for municipal use. Solve the problem. Texas is now debating a large data center construction and the energy consumption for that center will be monstrous. Are we hung up on the use of turbines and solar because Trump doesn’t want to admit the value of renewable energy sources? Could that be the holdup? This is a critical step to the future and we need to take it now.
MEDICAL INSURANCE SHORTFALL
We’ve mentioned this previously but it will bear repeating as long as the situation exists. The loss of Medicaid and ObamaCare subsidies is or will become disastrous for millions of Americans. Recent stats spell out the current situation. Premiums for ObamaCare (aka The Affordable Care Act) increased 114% in 2026 and the Big Beautiful Bill eliminated governmental subsidies. This caused 3 million people to lose medical insurance. And those who hung on did so out of desperation. This caused the average deductible to go from $1,000 in 2025 to $3,786 in 2026. Along with that catastrophe, millions more lost Medicaid eligibility because of new work requirements. Unfortunately, Health and Human Services which administers Medicaid through the states laid off 10,000 staffers last year and has yet to staff up for 2026. Some of these open positions were intended to administer the new Medicaid eligibility rules. So maintaining records on hours worked month-by-month falls to a skeleton crew at the state level and they just haven’t caught up yet. Result: lots of people are losing Medicaid. As we approach the mid term elections, you would expect the GOP as controlling Party In Congress to worry about being re-elected but so far there have no attempts to right the Medicaid ship. What does that tell you about the GOP expectation for a rigged election?
IRAN: THE WAR WE WON SEVERAL TIMES BUT ARE STILL BOMBING
We need to mention this fiasco because it’s getting even more ridiculous every day. Iran is backed by Russia, China and India because they rely on oil shipped through the Strait of Hormuz. Simple as that and the sooner Trump goes away the better. But Trump is still eyeing the Mediterranean resort Netanyahu promised him for attacking Iran. And he counting the money his empire will get when Palestinians are re-located somewhere in the Sahara. Don’t expect the war to be over and don’t expect gas prices to fall even in the face of November elections.
As we proceed through the campaign season, we suggest you attend candidates forums. Ask about the issues that affect you and your families. The November election is a turning point for America. If you don’t like what you’re getting from Trump, speak up with your vote. If the election is fair we will begin to flush out the most corrupt administration ever to plague our great democracy. Everyone of us knows that but only 68% will admit it. Don’t sit home On November 3rd. Make your vote count.
Until next time…
