We will be including many observations in today’s posts. For your convenience we’ll try to keep the word count as low as possible. We will try to focus on the message and minimize background information. We realize that not all of our visitors monitor news events daily so the danger is that, in an effort to be concise, we assume you are fully up-to-date on all major news items. We apologize in advance if we mis-communicate because we fail to provide enough lead-in details. These posts are in no special order except for the first one.
EPSTEIN–EPSTEIN–EPSTEIN!!!!
Never forget Epstein because it is at the root of many of Trump shenanigans. Pam Bondi has broken the Epstein Transparency Act law and should be impeached. The files, pictures, videos, E mails, etc. MUST be released in their unredacted form NOW. FYI, war with Iran, ICE violence, tariffs, loss of medical plan coverage and SNAP food benefits, even the demolition of the White House–all are an attempt to distract from the Epstein investigation. Don’t be fooled.
Imagine the pressure Ghislaine Maxwell must be exerting on Trump. She sees the polls and knows that Trump’s days in office are probably numbered. She also knows that–without Trump–she has no chance of a pardon and will probably be returned to a real prison. Her potential to do real harm to the Trump defense hangs in the balance.
THE POLLING FALLACY
We are hearing and will hear the results of polling as the midterm election campaigning begins. We suggest that polls are limited by the manner in which they are taken. Most polls are done by telephone. If you’re like us we don’t answer the phone when we can’t ID the caller. Only low IQ people invite strangers into their lives. Since most Trumpers have low IQ’s it stands to reason that they are most likely to answer the phone when pollsters call. That’s the only reason Trump’s approval rating is mid-thirties on almost every issue. In truth, we believe he’s closer to 20% approval if the valid polling sample included ALL CALL RECIPIENTS.
TRUMP’S PETTINESS LIST
- Filing charges against Jerome Powell, Chair of the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee. This case has no substance and is just another example of Trump childish revenge for Chairman Powell’s refusal to lower interest rates so Trump’s real estate company can gorge itself on greater profits.
- The DOJ is now investigating the County of Los Angeles on the possibility that funds were mishandled. Again, no validity to the charges–just an attempt to discredit Governor Newsom because he’s seems to be the front runner for the Dems in the next presidential election.
- Accepting the second hand Nobel Peace Prize is a thoroughly immature gesture. We should all be ashamed of a US president who bullies his way into negotiating the true winner’s surrendering of the Prize. How low can you get?
- Creating the Board of Peace with an initiation fee of one billion dollars while bombing Iran for the second time, killing 175 innocent children because he used poor intel, blowing up 18 Venezuelan fishing boats and killing 128 people, threatening Cuba and generally causing a widespread Middle East war is beyond hypocrisy. He, of course, is chairperson for life and has more voting authority that the 15 other countries who were dumb enough to join his Board.
- Trump is appointing a non-licensed individual to the role of Surgeon General. She is a wellness person who was recommended by RFK Jr. That should tell you all you need to know.
- Trump sided with Paramount+ in the purchase of Warner Brothers–regardless of what he said. Trump knows that CNN–part of WB– speaks objective truth and that always hurts the Trump cause so he wanted his friend, Larry Ellison CEO of Oracle and the second richest man on the earth, to place his son in the drivers seat over CNN. Mission accomplished. Netflix bowed out because they saw that the Trump FTC puppets would never approve of a Netflix-Warner merger/acquisition.
- The Melania movie is a testament to the suck up power Trump has over his billionaire buddies. They coughed up $75 million for an uninteresting (boring) account of how Melania spends her time in the White House. Even Jackie Kennedy knew that one TV hour a year to show off the Christmas decorations in the White House was sufficient. But this administration amplifies every move ad nauseam.
BREAK IT, THEN TRY TO FIX IT
There is a theme or pattern to Trump madness. He listens to Stephen Miller and Steve Bannon (the ex-convict), acts stupidly, screws up in a huge way and then tries to fix what he’s screwed up. Examples: (1) he eliminated thousands from Medicaid so many hospitals are either reducing services or closing. To fix this, he provided a paltry amount of money to save them. The amount is a mere pittance of the Medicaid revenue they lost. But–more than that–because the population those hospitals serve has lost Medicaid coverage, no hospital will admit them unless it is an emergency. In cases of emergency–those without coverage receive free care, the hospital “eats” the cost. (2) he’s bombed Iran and lost control of the Strait of Hormuz. This is drastically increasing gas prices and all other petroleum-dependent products. To fix the price increase problem, Trump is releasing the US petroleum reserve–172 million barrels of oil. This will help very little–especially if the Iranians continue to control the Strait. He’s so desperate he’s removed the sanctioning of Russia from selling their oil on the world market. (3) He re-named the Kennedy Center to the Trump-Kennedy Center and the uproar was huge. Among others, the vast majority of scheduled performers cancelled, the Director immediately retired/resigned, and the Center was closed. Trump tried to explain the disaster by saying that he was closing the building so it could be renovated. The previous renovation ($175 million) was completed in 2019. The point: closing for renovation was a lie to cover his unpopular theft of the name on the building and the closing he caused. Always remember that Trump is just a hand puppet of Stephen Miller. Miller is the undisclosed villain in this story. (4) There are 500,000 Iranian nationalists in America; we have bombed their homeland twice; we have killed 175 innocent children and almost all their leaders. At the same time, Trump is failing to fund the depleted Homeland Security Agency that is designed to protect us. How long do you think this will last before real harm is done? Trump is willing to destroy major US cities if it will achieve his goals. Will he fix this vulnerability?
FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Trump is defective in many ways but none more so than dealing with our neighbors on the planet. His threats against Greenland/Denmark, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Iran, Colombia and indirectly all NATO “allies” are front page stuff. And keep in mind that his motives are always greed and power. We now know that attacking Venezuela was motivated for two reasons: (1) he wanted to pay his US oil industry executives for their financial support and (2) he wanted to starve Cuba into an “on-their knees” negotiation with the US. This island nation is seen as a perfect location for Trump International Resort development. His Iran attacks are based on his trading with Netanyahu of Israel. He takes Iran off Netanyahu’s back in exchange for land on the Gaza–where his Mediterranean-style Riviera resort will be built. And in the Ukraine-Russia war (a war he promised to end on Day 1 of his term) he is negotiating with Putin over the sharing of Ukraine’s mineral wealth. We stopped all aid to Ukraine but Putin hasn’t given in to Trump’s demands yet so Trump placed sanctions on Russia’s oil sales. It’s all a game and none of the players worry about collateral damage like innocent civilians dying, cities destroyed, alliances broken, nuclear war threatened, retaliatory sleeper cell terrorists attacks, etc. This is war and war is hell. Do you begin to see the pattern here? Dictators are dividing up the planet. Trump’s negotiating strategy: beat your opponent into submission using the mightiest military force on earth and then demand that the beaten foe surrender whatever you want that they have…like oil, minerals, strategic locations, etc. Except for the lack of morals and ethics, it’s a foolproof method of never losing.
DEMOCRACY: ITS FINAL BATTLE?
It’s obvious that Trump is planning to control the outcome of the midterm elections. Despite slanted polling stats his ratings have plummeted and he seems to be at odds with more and more GOP members of Congress every day. The challenge is to plan a strategy to block Trump from being the final judge of how the election results are recorded. So far he’s tried gerrymandering, replacing election officials in many states, demanding voter rolls so he can eliminate voter groups that might vote Democratic, distractions by warring with Iran and any other move he can make to occupy his opponents priorities. The facts are: 28 Dems have replaced GOP members in 29 off-year elections and that has occurred in as many deep “red” states as in “blue” states. The gerrymandering appears to have backfired because the Dems have picked up more potential districts than the GOP. And there is growing speculation that formerly GOP solid districts may transition to Dem territory. Trump can try to overcome state control of the elections as intended by the US Constitution three ways: (1) using the military, simply seize the ballot boxes and cart them to Washington; (2) declare a safety issue nationwide and seize the ballots; or (3) attempt to use the US Supreme Court to rule on specific circumstances where the Federal Government can assume control and, then actually create those circumstances. Using any “Trumped up” (pun intended) basis, Vance will simply refuse to certify and seat the election winners. This will throw Congress into a Constitutional crisis and delay any results–maybe even force another election to be held. IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL THAT THE DEMS GET A DECLARATORY JUDGEMENT FROM THE US SUPREME COURT NOW THAT RE-INFORCES THE RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF EACH STATE AS REGARDS THE ELECTION STATE OFFICIALS. AS THE CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 4, READS IT IS UNCLEAR WHETHER TRUMP CAN MATERIALLY CHANGE THE ELECTION PROCESS AND CONTROL THE RESULTS TO HIS TAINTED PURPOSES. Trump is willing to sacrifice a major city if that’s what it takes to declare a national emergency and assume election control or cancel it entirely.
ONE LINERS…..POLITICAL
- Inflation grows with the replacement global tariffs imposed by Trump as he spurs CPI growth, unemployment, farmer bankruptcies, lack of new job creation and trade agreement destruction.
- While the DHS funding is held up in Congress, Trump continues to pay ICE but cuts off TSA wages–thereby causing travel and safety issues for millions of Americans and financial losses in the travel industry.
- Supreme Court Judge Alito is rumored to be resigning. Maybe he’s found that looking at the mirror is too painful as he has helped create the monster Trump.
- Refunding the $166 billion in illegally collected tariff money should result in a tax credit (that is, dollar-for-dollar) for every adult who files a tax return for the year 2026 in the amount of $675.
- It is a scary fact that Anthropic, a leader in AI application, was banished from Federal contracts because Anthropic wanted a guarantee that their technology would not be used for weaponry.
ONE LINERS…NON-POLITICAL
- Recently a new movie, THE BRIDE, was reviewed and recommended for viewing by general audiences. It’s review included “gross sexuality”, “nudity”, “gross bloody violence” and “excessive language”. It received 3 out of 4 stars. THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT?
- The LA Dodgers Major League Baseball team continues to dominate all aspects of the game. Their $119.9 million contract with Kyle Tucker is more than many teams entire payroll and Tucker hasn’t even played an inning in a regulation game for the Dodgers. They were given an “A” rating for off-season moves–the only team to receive such a rating. They have won 2 consecutive World Championships and are an odds-on bet to win a third this year. Even their Spring training record suggests dominance. COMMISSIONER, WHERE ARE YOU AND WILL YOU FIND YOUR SPINE BEFORE AD MONEY RUINS THE NATIONAL PASTIME? At the beginning of last season, we bet a sports writer for the USA Today that the Dodgers would win the World Series in 2025 and we gave him all 31 of the other teams. He took that bet and is quietly not responding to our E mails. He has written a column in the last few months that suggest he’s starting to agree with us–but he’s still reluctant to admit the Dodger’s obvious supremacy. Shame on you for hesitating.

Do not believe whatever the Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes. If they report 2.4% inflation–you have proof at the grocery store that refutes the number. If BLS reports 83,000 lost jobs last month, just know it’s more than that. In fact, all agencies of the Federal Government know that any information they publish that is not compliant with the Trump view will result in a number of firings. YOU CANNOT ACCEPT AS OBJECTIVELY TRUE ANYTHING PUT OUT BY THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION, WHETHER WE’RE TALKING THE REASONS FOR ATTACKING IRAN OR THE LATEST INFLATION STATS. It is no longer reasonable to accept as true information from an administration that routinely hides the truth and presents narratives that suit their objectives.
As a final note to today’s postings we want to thank our visitors for their faithful following and feedback. Over the last 6 and a half years we have registered over 1.3 million visits without any promotion of the blog. We realize that our tone has shifted to the political world as time moves on but it is difficult to cover all the distasteful, illegal, and inappropriately petty moves made by Trump and his orbiters.
