In the interest of clearing away all the news you’ve already heard, are hearing or will hear from now until election day–2024–we’ll be providing a checklist of questions for your consideration. Those questions will contain ONLY FACTUAL INFORMATION so as to purify your judgment. In other words, the questions will address universally accepted facts–pleasant or not–that you rely on as you make choices. This blog has provided factual info since its birth nearly 5 years ago. Our “claim-to-fame” is that we organize those facts into alternate perspectives for your consideration. Keep in mind that ALL MEDIA has built-in bias. Either the company that owns the media outlet has a bias, or the media chooses to embellish info so as to increase or maintain viewership (think $$$$), or the continuation of controversy promotes the media itself. These motives are present in TV, radio, podcasts, TikToks, newspapers and any other supposedly objective sources. Social media is the most obvious example of biased reporting. Unfortunately, most Americans access news via social media–without questioning its source, content or factual basis. And now, with the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, the reckless distribution of dangerous and damaging propaganda is even more insidious and effective. The gullible voters who believe what they see on social media may well determine the fate of the country as we go to the polls in November. Don’t be misled. Act on facts you can verify from whatever sources. And don’t forget to use your sense of logic when presented with information. Question everything you consider important so you can make the best informed choices when you cast your vote. As the year rolls on we will provide what we think are unbiased issues in question form. We want you to weigh in on your feelings as you address issues like abortion, gun laws, equal rights under the Constitution, climate change and all the other major topics of the day. The key to an effective government starts with an informed electorate–that’s you–the voter. The more you know–the better your choices are at ballot time. In theory, an informed voter population will choose what the majority wants as laws and officials to govern them. Majority rule is the foundation of all democracies. And an informed majority vote is the strongest possible foundation.
