Now that Trump has won the New Hampshire primary election (big surprise) the Republican National Committee is calling for Nikki Haley to drop out and endorse Trump. Their logic seems to be that a united GOP can be successful against Biden. A basic flaw to that attempt to project a unified image is the on-going debacle in the House of Representatives. Mike Johnson is facing a MAGA firing squad as he tries to work with the Dems. When Trump and the MAGA morons figure out how to free themselves of the self-constructed corner they’re in it may be necessary to try to elect the third Speaker in less than 18 months. That surely doesn’t portray unity. But the basic Haley dropout strategy is flawed. Remember Haley received over 43% of the New Hampshire (mostly Republican and Independents) vote. That means that a very large number of voters chose not to support Trump. If Haley drops out it will be impossible for the GOP “brain trust” to determine what demographic of voters should be the targets of future GOP/Trump ads. Since Trump lost the last election by nearly 8 million votes–he will need more than the 56% that supported him in New Hampshire. Said another way, 56% of GOP voters would arithmetically produce only about 50 million votes in a general election and that won’t do it. We hate to suggest ways to help Trump because he’s a menace–pure and simple. But his advisors failure to see the obvious can only mean one thing–he picked them.
