Yes, we’ve looked at the House bill text and no, we think it is shameful. Call it the “Robin Hood reverse bill” because it clearly takes from the poor and gives to the rich. Medicaid dollars will be inaccessible to as many as 11 million poor members of society and the super wealthy will see a lower tax liability. It’s that simple. House Speaker Mike Johnson is a liar when he says that “Medicaid benefits are not being reduced”. His real meaning is “for those people who get Medicaid the terms of medical, nursing home and other provisions are not being reduced. But the truth is 11 million people will lose eligibility altogether.” Mr. Johnson is not spinning the story–he is lying about the bill’s provisions because he knows that his voting base would never OK such a move if they understood it. Elon Musk opposes the bill because he knows what the potential economic impact will be on the concentration of wealth in America. As Congress sucks up to T-rump the power factor grows exponentially and Musk is concerned that T-rump will use that power to negotiate his own terms on the Musk contracts. Don’t kid yourself–Musk isn’t on your team–he’s still a money and power hungry oligarch who fears his rival will outrun him. Tell you Congress member that you do not support this abomination.
