• Recently six Democratic Congressional members made a Public Service Announcement in which they informed all military personnel that they are not to commit what they consider “unlawful acts”. This drew an immediate rebuke from President Trump who promoted the execution of those six. Let’s, as they say, unpack this. If Trump objects to reminding the troops that they are not to break the law we must ask why. Does Trump think he’s giving unlawful orders and may escalate them in the future? Or does he not know that this code of conduct is in the fabric of every soldiers DNA? Permit us a brief history lesson: The year is 1945, the place, Nuremberg, Germany. All of Hitler’s staff is on trial for crimes against humanity. Their defense is simple: we were just following orders. It didn’t fly. All were convicted and either executed or committed suicide. The principle today is the same. If the military is allowed to commit crimes knowing they can always blame their superiors–they will act mindlessly. Now, think of ICE and the media reports you’ve seen on TV. Does snatching US citizens off the streets with no evidence of criminal deeds sound like a violation of the Constitution? Does bombing 20 small boats in international waters and killing nearly 100 strangers sound like an unlawful act? Does bombing Iran (an act of war not sanctioned by Congress) without proof of uranium enrichment for weapons being developed sound illegal? Remember, Trump has shown no evidence or proof of drug activity. He hasn’t even bothered to explain his orders to kill. Do you see where this is going? As Trump pushes the envelope beyond our “rule of law” he emboldens himself into the next phase. In the 1940’s Hitler’s next step was to disband the Reichtag altogether because they were just a nuisance to his accomplishment of wartime goals. Our Supreme Court has already ceded control to him and is allowing as much tolerance as possible in small steps–so their capitulation is not as obvious. But the signs are clearly present. So the six Democrats who remind all of us that the military is intended to enforce lawful orders only are to be hailed for accidentally unearthing the dictatorial plan of one Donald Trump. So, we ask again, who’s really guilty of seditious behavior?
  • Never forget the Epstein files release. Congress has forced the Attorney General to release these files by December 19th. We’re certain that they will be fully sanitized and show no reference to Trump even though his name was mentioned over 1,600 times. We expect that the files will be heavily redacted and reflect any Democratic names with full details. Our only hope is that victims come forward and offer their story in the media, Congress, on street corners or anywhere else. Only by corroborating witness testimony will the Epstein clients be brought to justice. And Ghislaine Maxwell will continue to threaten Trump with her demands to be freed from any jail. She’s in her 60’s now and does not want to spend time in a restraint.
  • Ukrainian Peace Plan? No, Ukrainian Surrender Plan. The 28 point plan promoted by Trump and Rubio is a joke. It says that Russia gets all the Ukrainian land plus the Donbas region and makes no concessions on any basis. Ukraine cannot join NATO and may maintain only 25% of its standing army. Let’s call it as we see it…Putin told Trump what he wants. Trump–while withholding all support from Ukraine–is trying to work a side deal with Putin to get at the mineral wealth in Ukraine…why else would Trump be interested in Ukraine “peace”? As the war rages on, consider this Trump’s question to Zelenskyy “have you had enough?” So far, the answer is “no”. Trump has tries isolation from financial and military weapon support, threats and White House intimidation on the Ukraine side. And–on the Russian side–he’s threatened to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles and sanctions. Nothing works because Putin is willing to fight on regardless of Trump. WE HAVE SAID IN PREVIOUS POSTS THE QUICKEST WAY TO END THE WAR. IF THE US AND ALL NATO COUNTRIES COMMUNICATED THAT THEY WOULD CONFISCATE ALL OLIGARCH PROPERTIES IN 10 DAYS, SELL THEM AT AUCTION AND USE THAT MONEY TO BUY WEAPONS FOR UKRAINE–THE OLIGARCHS WOULD END THE PUTIN REIGN…ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. MONEY TALKS AND THIS ACTION SHOUTS “STOP THE WAR BEFORE WE LOSE BIG TIME”.
  • Another example of failed Trump policies is his treatment of the oil industry. While Trump has tried to expand the US oil industry as he promised by initiating offshore drilling rights where there were no rigs before, he has driven the price of oil downward. At the same time, the OPEC countries have increased their production which has reduced the price of oil to less than $60/barrel. This means that US refiners cannot make a profit by drilling, refining, and shipping oil products within the US. So what we have here is a situation where big oil contributed to Trump’s campaign but his relations with Saudi Arabia have resulted in an oil glut worldwide. The resulting price reduction takes them below the break even point and now our own oil industry is suffering. But along with the oil industry we are finding all subsidiary industries that count on big oil are also suffering the net impact is that unemployment in some communities has tripled in the last two months. This is just the beginning of the unemployment cycle that the Trump regime is produced.
  • Is the term “revolution” so far from our vocabulary at this point in time? Let’s quickly think about past revolutions that we are familiar with. The first one obviously is our own revolution in the 1770s but also there is the French Revolution, the revolution in Russia, the revolution in Cuba and any other revolution you can remember. These events are well documented and they all have several factors in common (1) all revolutions begin with a huge maldistribution of wealth among the citizens of the country;(2) there is a growing opposition to the administration in office; (3) there is evidence of a consistent violation of the rule of law in that country; and, (4) the poor are definitely losing ground while the super wealthy are clearly gaining ground. Now, we want you to think of the events in the US over the last 10 months. Is the term revolution still far from your vocabulary?
  • During our last post we provided you with information about the slippage of manufacturing in this country. The United States Gross Domestic Product is now composed of only 10% manufacturing. And the slippage continues according to the latest statistics. US manufacturers are noticing that due to the tariffs imposed by president Trump, demand for products is rapidly falling and as a result they are reluctant to continue at the same production levels as they had pre-tariffs. This obviously is contributing to a greater dependence on foreign manufacturers who are still able to produce ,transport, and sell competing products in the United States. The other major result is an upturn in unemployment in the manufacturing sector. This will not stop until tariffs are eliminated…all the while inflation grows as unemployment surges.
  • The story on climate change only continues to get worse. At a recent meeting in Brazil 99% of weather experts agreed that the earth is warming due to the spreading of fossil fuels. Because the US chose not to attend, a major contributor (the US) to this pollution and ever growing heat pattern has not been folded into the discussion. The US continues to be a major world polluter and under the current Trump regime has no intention of backing away from its position that climate change is a hoax. The earth has warmed more in the last 250 years then at a faster rate than anytime in the previous 66 million years. If that doesn’t get your attention you simply don’t care about the future and what will happen to the human race. Some individuals consider climate change as our number one enemy, far ahead of nuclear war, pandemics, or any other major disaster. This is a serious concern and yet the Trump White House has turned his back on today’s facts and tomorrow’s catastrophes.
  • There was a recent meeting between president Trump and Zohren Mamdani. Although the meeting was cordial, there was no mention of a restart of the federal funding of an almost completed New York area infrastructure project where $14 billion of federal tax revenue has already been invested. Watch the media for any update information on this infrastructure project.
  • If you’ve been following the artificial intelligence discussion you know that many jobs in our economy seem to be threatened by the ability of technology to perform functions either by crunching numbers, making decisions, or actually–in a robotic mood–doing certain jobs. One of the most obvious possibilities of AI is the replacement of everyone in Hollywood. Imagine a world where AI creates heroes, leading ladies, villains, and circumstances that previously appeared only as animation and now can appear to be is human as you or me. Hollywood would seem to be stressed out over this issue because there will be no incentive to pay $20 million to any movie personality regardless of their following if you can basically improve on them by simply pushing it a button. Stay tuned.
  • James Comey and Letitia James have been indicted by an illegally appointed prosecutor named Lindsey Halligan. A federal judge has just dismissed those charges against those two individuals because Ms. Halligan has no legal standing that would allow her to file these charges and appear before a grand jury to elicit an indictment. This is just another example of the Trump revenge syndrome that is spreading as we speak. Along with the item mentioned at the top of this posting about the six Democrats who made a public service announcement the possibility is that all six of them will also be indicted on frivolous charges. We asked the question: “if Pam Bondi, our Attorney General, knew the law and knew that she was appointing Ms. Halligan illegally to file for an indictment why is there no blowback against Ms. Bondi for illegally appointing a prosecutor to inflict revenge?” It seems that whenever a Trump official makes a legal mistake there is no follow up by anyone in the Democratic Party. This is a good example of their failure to hold the incompetent staff of the Trump White House accountable for their actions.
  • Recently our president floated the idea of a 50 year mortgage for home buying purposes. While it may be said that this 50 year old mortgage approach could lower payments it must also be recognized that any house purchased with this 50 year term would involve the payment of far greater interest if the individual stayed within the house for the entire term. There are a couple of comments about this: First, we believe that this is a first step to liberalizing the financing of commercial projects where mortgages like those required by the Trump empire would be on a 50 year basis and possibly improve development financing situations. The second comment that comes to mind is that because costs are escalating in the market it is more expensive to build homes today than ever before. And, as a result the Trump proposal is designed to hide the fact that newly built homes may be beyond the reach of individuals. A 50 year mortgage while decreasing current monthly payments by 12% to 15% will result in paying more than double the interest over the term of the loan.
  • It must be said that the cost of health care will be the major downfall of the Republican Party in the 2026 elections. It is now becoming generally known that the loss of Obamacare subsidies and the increase in cost for most medical insurance plans will be skyrocketing is the new year begins. Beyond the obvious pressure that it puts on a household budget these cost increases will have major impact on our medical care system. Hospitals will close or they will severely reduce the services they offer to only those that are profit makers. Doctors will see fewer patients and therefore move to areas in the country where there is still an adequate market for insurance that can pay them for their services. This will clearly diminish medical care support in all rural or smaller communities. Another major negative will be that fewer individuals will seek medical care when they should. And therefore this country will experience greater long term chronic care and a decrease in our longevity overall. Watch for the possibility that the GOP will relent in their opposition to these medical plan cost increases. President Trump has indicated that he has a plan but that Congress has vetoed it behind closed doors. We believe this is just a cop out and the Trump simply wants to shift the blame to faceless and nameless bureaucrats who won’t be held accountable for their failures. Trump has no medical care plan of any kind in our opinion.
  • Another Trump misdirection involves the $2000 tariff rebate that he mentioned recently. This $2000 was intended to provide purchasers with a cushion against the tariffs that have increased their prices. According to Karoline Levitt, his spokesperson, the president is very interested in getting this money to people as soon as possible. But now he tells us that Congress has vetoed the idea. This is very interesting because Trump his waged war without the consent of Congress, he has violated due process under the Constitution without any discussion with Congress, he has inflicted the tariffs around the world without Constitutional support and now he wants us to believe that he’s abiding by the Congressional veto of his $2000 tariff rebate. If you believe that I have some swampland in Florida to sell you. There never was any such rebate plan just like the $5000 check Trump mentioned earlier this year.
  • It must be mentioned that 72% of those people receiving SNAP food benefits are worried that they will not be able to feed their families through the holiday season. This means that in the wealthiest country on earth over 30 million people face the prospect of going hungry during the holidays and beyond. While the SNAP benefits have been restored, it appears that bureaucratic red tape will delay those benefits being restarted and actually getting to the people who need them for the foreseeable future. This is a travesty and a tragedy and all of it rests with the GOP and Donald Trump. When you sit down to your Thanksgiving Day meal or you have friends over for the holidays keep in mind the many people who will not have anything on their supper table because of the ineptitude of our current administration. This is the shameful reflection on the poor judgment of the people who reelected Trump to make these kinds of decisions. Shame on you if you’re among that group.
  • Finally, let’s follow the SNAP posting with the antidote. If there was ever a time in this country where charity needs to take center stage it is now. Because of the elimination of Medicaid benefits, SNAP food delays and the loss of Obamacare subsidies , 2026 portends to be a very bleak year. When your church, your synagogue, your goodwill industry representative, your Vietnam vets office, or any other charity calls. please consider this year as the biggest food, clothing, and shelter emergency time ever to be suffered in this country even including the Great Depression in the 1930s. If ever there was a need for the Christmas spirit to shift your generosity into high gear, this is the time. We try to lead our viewers into the Christmas season by slowly stepping into the giving mode because we believe that generosity, compassion, and collaboration are a major help during the holiday season. This holiday season it is more important to think about others more than to think about yourself. We hope that all are visitors to this blog will be generous in their thoughts, prayers, treasures, and time toward all the millions of people in this country who will have far less this year than they had last year.

UNTIL NEXT TIME…
