THE EPSTEIN FILE RELEASE: By now everyone has read the story about Congress approving the release of the Epstein files by a vote of 427 to 1. Now the conjecture begins as to how president Trump will avoid the full release of all the files which are reported to include his name over 1600 times. Along with this discussion is the fact that hundreds of FBI agents have spent many weeks redacting the files so that wherever his name appears it has been obliterated. Add to that the Attorney General Pam Bondi’s comment that they “will follow the law” which has been interpreted to mean they will avoid providing information that would prove as an invasion of privacy to the victims or taint ongoing investigations. It is ironic that the investigations that the Department of Justice are now conducting are only in regards to Democratic Party names which supposedly are mentioned in those Epstein files. A major development occurred when Eric Swalwell, representative from the State of California, indicated that the subpoena sent by Congress to the Department of Justice requires total disclosure including any information that may have been redacted or withheld using the “in-process” investigation excuse. It remains to be seen how this will develop. Stay tuned.

JOBS REPORT: With a minimum of fanfare the latest jobs report was issued by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It shows at 119,000 jobs were created in the month of September 2025. There are a number of problems with this report. First, it was late, suggesting that some additional tinkering was done with the numbers. Second, it shows that the tariffs are not producing the result president Trump promised. 80% to 90% of the jobs that were created in September were service jobs or healthcare related jobs. Third, it shows that a 25,000 job loss was found in the transportation and warehousing area of the report. This strongly suggests that manufacturers in the US are transporting fewer goods and storing fewer goods. Remember this is the holiday season and consumer sales at this time of the year are supposed to spike; yet US manufacturers are actually transporting fewer goods and storing fewer goods for near-term purchases. This should tell you that US manufactured goods are not being favored by the tariffs as the president promised. It is true that a time lag would occur because of the need to build plants and add jobs to staff those plants or to add a second or third shift. But the facts so far after three months to four months of tariffs show that our economy is definitely slowing down. When you add inflationary pressures caused by the tariffs what you have is a developing recession or possibly worse. Coincidentally, unemployment claims have increased dramatically over the past month. It appears that the vast majority of economists in this country have correctly predicted that the Trump economic strategy is a total disaster.

TRUMP HONORS A MURDERER: This week our president showed extremely cordial relations with Mohammed bin Salman, or MBS as he is known, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia by honoring him at a state dinner at the White House. We all remember that MBS was deemed responsible (by Trump’s own CIA) for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post journalist and an American citizen. But let’s not forget also that the Saudis were clearly blamed for the 9/11 catastrophe on the Twin Trade Towers in New York in 2001 and the 1993 bombing in New York City which killed dozens. It appears that the greed of the Trump empire including his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, have attracted the attention of our president and he has conveniently overlooked the fact that he is honoring a murderer. When asked this question by a reporter he discredited the reporter for asking an embarrassing question and the Prince said nothing like that should ever happen again or words to those affect. This is another travesty in the Trump reign.

TRUMP CRUMBLIING: Our president is clearly showing his shallowness and his failing health. We suggest you research his recent speech at the franchise holder’s (McDonald’s) annual meeting in Washington DC. He rambled on in his speech for an hour praising the McDonald’s menu and showing pictures of how he and other members of his cabinet enjoy big Macs and other McDonald’s treats while they fly around in Air Force One. His antics betray a shallowness that may be due to a mental deterioration or possibly reflect just his general stupidity about what makes sense and maybe how long he should talk. In addition to our president faux pas, RFK JR.. had been asked in a public forum to describe Social Security situations and as an example of fraud and waste, RFK JR. indicated that thousands of individuals on the SSA rules were over the age of 150. When he tried to explain how wrong this was he couldn’t remember that he was talking about the Social Security system and as a result fumbled for many minutes until someone helped him remember what he was talking about. We have heard rumors that he takes drugs. We don’t know if those are legal drugs or not but his appearance under the the influence is a sad reflection of the capabilities of someone who’s in a critical position and one that affects the lives of every human being in this country.

GREED “TRUMPS” HEALTH: We now know why president Trump considers climate change a hoax. It’s a trade-off with Big Oil. Or, as they politely say, a “quid-pro-quo”. It was recently revealed that he has granted the oil industry 32 permits to build offshore drilling rigs off the coast of California and Alaska as well as in the Gulf Coast. It is obvious that president Trump values the campaign and contribution support of the oil industry. And obviously fossil fuels cause major health problems through pollution. If you remember correctly during Trump’s campaign there was a rumor that he offered to support the oil industry if they were willing to contribute to his success in the campaign. It appears we have now come full circle.

A NOTE TO FOREIGN BLOG VISITORS: it must be noted that most Americans are thoroughly displeased with the current White House administration. The latest polls show that 63% of all Americans are dissatisfied with the Trump White House and its policies. We, at “anothersview” want to assure anyone reading this blog from outside the United States to realize that we do not support any of the Trump moves to alienate our foreign friends or to align ourselves with our foreign enemies. Please do not assume that the Trump regime is favored in any quarters. Even the GOP is beginning to rebel and show its true colors day by day. We at this blog believe that by the first of the year the Trump regime will topple. The final straw will be when medical plan costs are realized by millions of Americans. The backlash will be enormous and the voter impact will be resounding. The Republican Party will not attempt to campaign for the mid-term elections (November, 2026) with all the negative voter sentiment caused by medical plan costs. Please be patient, the Trump reign is about to end.

OHIO–THE STATE OF CORRUPTION: For those of you who have been faithful readers to this blog overtime you will remember that we comment periodically on the Sstate of Ohio and its corrupt and inept government. Governor DeWine (pronounced Da-Weeny) has routinely avoided controversy and failed to do his job to maintain common sense among his citizens. Ohio is a “red state” and Governor DaWeeny knows that any action he takes which opposes Trump will cost the GOP in the state of Ohio. The most obvious example of the disastrous management of a state is the First Energy (A Northern Ohio Utility) debacle. Amid kickbacks, bribes and other “considerations” executives of this organization have been fired, resigned or in one case actually committed suicide to avoid facing their judgment. This past week FirstEnergy was fined $250.7 million for its actions. It is noteworthy also that the Speaker of the Ohio Legislature, Speaker Householder, was charged with bribery and has been jailed for a term of 15 years. He recently requested a Trump pardon. So far as we know that pardon has not been granted. Householder had been the recipient of millions of dollars of bribes to pave the way for First Energy to defraud its customers. As we said Ohio is a poorly managed state with a “do nothing” governor and a corrupt legislature. In other words it is the perfect example of a red state.

RELIGION COMMENT #2: if you read the previous post we showed you how to prove to yourself that there is a God. You may call God by various names but it is impossible to escape the reality that an entity greater than anything we can imagine created the universe we see around us. As we approach the holiday season it is our intent to focus on the real reason for celebration. This particular installment will address the Bible and its relevance. Whatever Bible you may follow–King James/Catholic version, it is important to realize that the books contained therein have been dutifully added to the current versions over many years. Catholic Popes, for example, approved books after their authenticity, content and relevance were thoroughly researched by the scholars of the day. But we should also realize that the Bible versions (King James and Catholic) were written specifically for the time, circumstances and people who were expected to see them. In other words, the ancient world was much different than our world and so the stories in the Bible become factually suspect. Whether there was a Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve can never be proven. And, in fact, the author of Genesis could not have witnessed the serpent’s betrayal. We don’t have any way of knowing who actually wrote Genesis. But the story was an attempt to explain how the human race started and set the stage for the need for redemption from Original Sin. Now to the point: The Bible recounts the birth of Christ. Christmas was initially a very revered time because it described how the Creator of the Universe allowed himself to become one of us so he could redeem our sin. Over two thousand years later, most people don’t think of Jesus Christ when they start shopping. Christmas is dependent on gifts for them. The real value is giving but not the way most of us think about it. The easiest way to turn the corner from secular attitudes about this holiday is to remember a couple of old sayings: (1) it is better to give than to receive; and (2) you are your brother’s keeper. There are others, of course, but the message is clear. We are put here to serve others with kindness, generosity and caring. The life journey is much harder for some than others and that is our opportunity to display what many call “the Christmas spirit”. The Bible (either version) sets the stage with the story of the virgin birth in a stable in Bethlehem, a hick town in the middle of nowhere. The authors of this account wanted to provide hope for the Second Coming of the Messiah and fulfill prophecies. Christmas is all about allowing the humility and warmth of that effort to engulf your being and radiate it outward to others. If that is your focus, your Christmas will be successful for you and everyone you touch.

UNTIL NEXT TIME…
