The chickens are finally coming home to roost–as the old saying goes. If you hold a job you are not qualified for (like Trump as president) and you have a sordid history (and he has by Epstein association) and you hire only loyalists regardless of experience, capabilities or qualifications (Hegseth, Noem, Gabbard, RFK Jr., etc.) eventually you paint yourself into a corner. (Sorry about the cliches) And that is exactly what Trump has done again. He’s been there before with E. Jean Carroll, his mortgage fraud trial, classified docs he took, election interference convictions, 187 minutes of enjoying the assault on the US Capitol and its police, etc. And he managed with the help of corrupt courts, ineffective timing, Dem failures and probably other gimmicks like delay, denial, distract to avoid justifiable consequences. But now he’s had a chance to screw his reign up and earn the punishment he should have felt over the last 4 years. Here’s what we think will nail Trump to unavoidable consequences:

  • His tariffs will undoubtedly increase inflation for almost all products that have any component of foreign materials. Either the product itself, parts of the product or the container it comes in will cost much more. Watch for Trump to “cook the books” on inflation data that he allows to be published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Of course, unemployment numbers and all other stats are subject to “filtration” through the Trump administration. But consumers will notice the price they pay for coffee, bread, eggs, etc. And the natural sequence is that as prices rise and purchasing power is greatly diminished, and unemployment grows, the economy will shrink leading to a recession. Of course, the official numbers from Trump will hide that fact or blame Joe Biden or some other unrelated cause for Trump’s failed actions. Remember, he’s already filed for bankruptcy 4 times as a businessman. What makes you think he’s capable of managing the biggest budget on the planet when he failed 4 times with his own business–despite cheating on mortgage applications and lying to insurance companies?
  • The next nasty problem is named Ghislane Maxwell. She wants out of prison and so is pushing Trump for a presidential pardon. This is the perfect example of Trump being between a rock and a hard place. (Sorry, the cliches still rule.) If he pardons this convicted child sex predator he will antagonize and irritate much of his remaining 37% base and lose votes for his GOP 2026 candidates. If he doesn’t pardon Maxwell he runs the risk of Maxwell providing information that could damage the GOP and possibly Trump. She is a proven liar but she could point authorities in the right direction to verify embarrassing situations, facts and/or people (like Prince Andrew of the UK). If we were the Dems we would request an interview with Maxwell. She and her attorney should favor such a request because it will scare Trump and anyone else who fears exposure. That’s called “bringing the situation to a ahead”. Be careful, Ms. Maxwell, you know what happened to Jeffrey E.
  • And the final squeeze is the shutdown. Trump and the GOP passed the Big Beautiful (Garbage) Bill over the strenuous objections of the Dems who disliked eliminating Medicaid, food benefits (SNAP) and giving the savings to billionaires as a tax cut. Now the “you-know-what” has hit the fan because the GOP needs Congressional approval (60 senators) to pass a funding bill to keep the government open. The Dems say “Not so fast–you need us now”. And to add pressure, the timing could not be worse. Food benefits for 42 million Americans will be stopped on November 4th. People are learning how much their insurance costs (Medicaid replacements, etc.) will double/triple. And furloughed Federal employees are facing a bleak (and getting bleaker) holiday. Because the vast majority of the public sympathizes with those whose medical insurance or food benefits are impacted the GOP and specifically Trump are blamed for this mess. When you add the other “presidential moves” like ICE in blue cities, violating the Constitution repeatedly, tearing down the East Wing of the White House, alienating our foreign friends while cozying up to dictators–well, it’s not a pretty picture. And, if you’re a GOP 2026 candidate in a purple state, it’s downright frightening. You may recall how those GOP Townhall meetings went south. The Dems have the GOP over a barrel and we think they need to force the rollback of the Medicaid, SNAP and billionaire tax cuts from the BBB. Anything less will result in many voters blaming the Dems for the settlement. And imagine how many voters will turn “blue” in 2026 despite the gerrymandering efforts to rig the election.

IF THERE WAS EVER A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE DEMS TO POUNCE ON TRUMP, HIS MENAGERIE STAFF, HIS POLICIES AND THEIR IMPACT–IT IS NOW.
