(We, at anothersview, are changing our style to respond to visitor’s comments. In the future, we will try to keep postings to a few sentences. And we will post new comments several times each week to keep up with current events and developments. We hope you like the changes. And we thank you for spending some of your day with us.)

  • Pam Bondi says she is waging war against hate speech but have you ever noticed how often our president, her boss, uses the word “retribution” and exacts revenge on people who he sees as his opponents. Which is worse, “hate speech” or “hateful persecution”?
  • It is ironic that James Comey, former Director of the FBI, is being charged (four years later) with lying to Congress under oath when the accuser, Pam Bondi–herself- also lied under oath when she promised not to use the Department of Justice as a weapon in the hands of our president. We could also consider at least two of the new Supreme Court Justices as having lied under oath to Congress when they indicated very clearly that they would not overturn Roe V wade and then immediately proceeded to do exactly that after they were cleared by Congress and appointed to the US Supreme Court.
  • Recently Jerome Powell, chairperson of the Federal Open Market Committee, agreed to reduce interest rates at the Federal Reserve by 1/4 of a point. He knows full well that this is the wrong thing to do at the wrong time in consideration of our economy. By reducing interest rates–while he may be popular with consumers who may benefit from the rate reduction–he knows this will not stimulate business because American businessmen will not use financing to build new factories or retool while unused and unsold inventory sits in warehouses. You don’t need to build more capacity when you can’t sell what you already have on hand. This of course will lead to increased unemployment.
  • The recent murder of Charlie Kirk has raised concerns that political violence may become the new normal in American. The concern is that both sides of the aisle may see a reason to use desperate measures to solve difficult problems. For the record of the 500 plus political violence actions in the past 10 years nearly 360 of them have been identified as having conservative leaning perpetrators. The overwhelming majority of deaths recorded were conservative-leaning perps. This is in stark contrast to what the president said when he accused “lefty lunatics” of using political violence as the solution.
  • Recently in Cincinnati a chaplain at the University of Cincinnati hospital was jailed because he was accused of having terrorist ties. This Imam was incarcerated for 10 full weeks despite protests from hundreds of people who knew that he was not involved with any terrorist organization. After 10 weeks he was quietly and without comment released from custody. No explanation was given, no evidence or proof was provided, and no further details as to the reason for his arrests were made. You be the judge on whether this meets the test of habeas corpus.
  • Under “misleading headlines”, there was a recent article in a Gannett newspaper that indicated that unions were supporting the Trump agenda. The very second paragraph of that same article indicated that some, not all by any means, unions had misgivings about the concerns on the left about the Trump agenda. In other words, the headlines told one story and implied something that was clearly not true or accurate while the detail of the story refuted the headlines. This is a typical Trump/GOP tactic because people read only headlines. They don’t have time for the detail. The GOP counts on that time pressure to miscommunicate.
  • The First Amendment of the US Constitution is being attacked. We saw it upfront when Jimmy Kimmel was pulled from his program for reporting the antics of our fraudulent president. The problem here isn’t the political satire. The problem is that satire is intended to exaggerate actions that leaders would never actually take. But, in Trump’s case, the satire accurately reflects his moronic moves to destroy the country. So–in a sense–it’s more of a news report that would be funny–if it weren’t true. Trump–using the sycophant Brendan Carr FCC Head–is censoring Kimmel because he’s showing how ridiculous Trump is simply by reporting what he’s doing. Trump knows that voters will eventually see the light and the 2026 elections become more challenging.

WE CLOSE THIS EDITION WITH A MARK TWAIN QUOTE:

“NO AMOUNT OF EVIDENCE WILL PERSUADE A FOOL.”

That may help to explain why Trump’s approval rating is about 38%.

Until next time…
