• The measles outbreak currently includes over 30 states with over 1,300 known cases of the measles. While RFK jr. stands by his comments against the use of vaccines this once controlled nemesis spreads throughout the country. Imagine what this will do when school reconvenes in mid to late August.
  • Everyone by now is familiar with the murder of the four Idaho university students who shared the dwelling in rural Idaho. Recently, the accused, an individual named kohberger, has accepted a plea deal in exchange for pleading guilty as charged. Now we’ve all heard the play by play on the nightly news but we still have yet to hear the word “motive”. Why did this individual choose to take the lives of four young people? Wouldn’t you think the news media would hound the local police to get at the reasoning behind this horrific act?
  • You rightfully worry about inflation spreading and as recently as this week it was reported that even before the tariffs took any effect at all, inflation in June of 2025 over May of 2025 is up .3%. While this may not seem like much it is a greater than 10% increase and has occurred before almost any of the announced tariffs become effective. As we have indicated in the past, it is impossible for any marketing retailer to absorb the incredible tariff levels heaped on it by our president. For that reason we can expect a minimum doubling, tripling, or quadrupling of inflation in the next two to three months if we assume Trump does not “chicken out” as he has done in the past.
  • On the same subject as tariffs, our president has indicated that he expects American companies to return their manufacturing processes to America to improve American employment situations. The first comment that needs to be made is that there is no unemployment problem in the United States today. Our unemployment level is considered “full employment” by every economist on the planet. Secondly, in a recent survey of manufacturing organizations it was reported 2/3 of the 380 companies surveyed will not be bringing manufacturing back into this country because it would at least double their cost of production. 61% said cost effective moves were originally generated because of the move to a lower tariff country. In other words, manufacturing was moved offshore because other countries could manufacture the products we need in this country much more cheaply than we could. So it stands to reason that by bringing back those manufacturing processes to the US we would be greatly increasing the American cost of living (inflation) for all of us. This makes no sense to people who think it through. But Trump believes his base is so stupid that they will not understand the long term implications of his strategy. He simply wants to identify with them on the voter level. He has no respect for their intelligence and he capitalizes on that lack of knowledge.
  • Recently a Muslim won the primary for the Democratic Party in New York City to be on the ballot for the next mayoral election. His name is Mamdani and he is-by any stretch of the imagination-a very long shot. This is another example of the Trump “briar patch” strategy. Trump has already criticized Mr. Mamdani and attempts to degrade him in the eyes of all voters. In truth, Trump wants Mamdani to be the candidate for the job from the Democratic Party. He knows that by having a Democratic Muslim on the ballot it presents a real opportunity for a GOP mayor to be installed in the state of New York. Remember, New York carries 45 electoral votes and by controlling New York City the GOP hopes to swing the state of New York into the red column in future elections.
