Do you honestly believe that the political attacks on California and New York are coincidental? Let’s take a closer look.
- In California, Trump chose to send in the National Guard and the Marines to quell a mostly peaceful demonstration supporting the ICE treatment of migrants. These American citizens were exercising their First Amendment rights when the full force of the Federal Government (uninvited) was dumped on them. Trump has already called Governor Newsom several unflattering names and called California a disaster for its migrant population. Last year Trump criticized California for mismanaging its forest resources and blamed the Governor for the wildfires. Trump hesitated to use FEMA and then–on his own–Trump released millions of gallons of precious water that California had planned to use during the growing season. Once again, Trump took over. If you ask “why”, the answer is simple: (1) Trump wants to discredit Newsom because he fears the Governor may be on the Democratic ticket for president the next time around; (2) Trump salivates over the number of electoral college votes in California; (3) Trump always considers the potential real estate development possibilities; and (4) The 6th District Court of Appeals is typically opposed to Trumpian moves and rules against him. With control of the state, Trump or his successor will be in a position to change all that.
- In New York, the GOP has the same goal–control of state government. First, Trump struck a deal with New York City Mayor Eric Adams to dismiss his bribery crimes charges in echange for cooperating with the Trump migrant process. A huge number of government attorneys resigned in protest over what they called “total injustice”,” violation of the rule of law” and many other critical remarks. Then, in a masterful coverup, Trump highly criticized the winner of the Democratic Mayor Primary as a “communist”. This was after (and we’re guessing here) he provided financial support for that candidate. Zohran Mamdani is a Muslim and Trump knows that New Yorkers will NEVER elect a Muslim as their mayor. So Trump knows that whoever his GOP opponent is, he has a real advantage when the general election is held. Also, Trump fears the resurrection of Andrew Cuomo’s political career. Trump knows that Cuomo–if in the Mayor’s job when the next election happens–will be in a perfect spot to make the Democratic ticket for president. Trump also values the 45 electoral votes in New York.
So now you have have “anothers’ view” and can see how the mind of Steve Miller really works. Don’t give Trump credit for planning this far ahead–he’s definitely not smart enough. If you doubt our view, just watch how the Trump Administration treats those two electoral vote states.
