Americans should be ashamed that–after nearly 250 years of democratic rule and balance assured by integrity in our judiciary–a total fraud has destroyed it all. Every civilized society progresses on law and order. The basic presumption is that laws organize acceptable behavior and everyone is REQUIRED to live within those guidelines. Then Trump comes along and 250 years are discarded. First, he stacked the US Supreme Court with liars who perjured themselves when vetted under oath before Congress. Then he placed hundreds of judges in key positions to align with his personal agenda. Then he lied about almost every aspect of his life, his business, and his moral code. And the sad part is: a majority of voters believed. Now we have a president-elect who, along with many other criminal acts, has been convicted of 34 felonies. The State of New York enacted these laws because of the serious nature of the consequences–should they be broken. They made them “felonies”. And Trump was convicted 34 times of violating those laws. IF ANY PERSON IS ABOVE THE LAW–EVERY PERSON IS ABOVE THE LAW. Can you imagine what our society would be without laws? Does the term “slippery slope” come to mind? If Trump doesn’t pay for his crimes–should ANYONE pay for criminal acts? Put another and more specific way–what if several other New York residents choose to commit the same acts as Trump? Can they be convicted if Trump is not punished? Precedent is powerful–or, we should say–WAS powerful before the Roe v. Wade debacle. If precedent is to be set aside–what does that do to the thousands of legal actions now pending across America? No, without punishing EVERY convicted felon, we free every convicted felon. A land without laws is a land in chaos.
