There is a new disease spreading rapidly among the GOP. It’s called “desperation”. Here are the symptoms:
- Calling out the Secretary of the Navy for endorsing Harris for president. The last time we checked the Secretary is free to talk about his choice under First Amendment rules. Granted, the military usually refrains from political comments but becoming Secretary of the Navy doesn’t suspend your Constitutional rights.
- The GOP is suing Biden over immigration. You’ll recall that Biden accepted the GOP Immigration proposal a long time ago but Trump ordered Speaker Mike Johnson (his lap dog) to drop it. So now the GOP is suing Biden for not doing what he agreed to do at their urging. THAT’S DESPERATION!!
- The GOP is attacking VP Candidate Tim Walz for mishandling money that was intended for one purpose–while he was Minnesota’s Governor–and using it elsewhere. Note; The GOP is not saying he misused or stole the money–he just didn’t put it into its intended purpose. Oh well, that whole mess seems to have died out because the GOP couldn’t get enough dirt to justify even their futility.
- Using the hidden Chinese agent in the New York political world as a springboard, the GOP is enlisting the FBI to investigate the Mayor of New York City and his administration. That was announced a few weeks ago without any updates…seems like another flare out to us.
- Failing to bribe the oil industry Trump ran over to Elon Musk for support. Now, Musk is a multi-billionaire so it’s only a matter of time before Trump puts the bite on him for a loan. But, in the meantime, Trump is suggesting that Musk be his budget director. Imagine–if you will– putting a man who simply fires employees without honoring their employment contracts in charge of a national budget–60% of which is dedicated to welfare programs like Medicare, Aid to Dependent Children and others. What would you expect this kind-hearted Musk to do?
- Another symptom of GOP Desperation is bedding down with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.–emphasis on the “junior”. The man who admitted stashing a dead bear cub in Central Park and has given rise to countless improbable theories has finally found a home. What’s the saying “Birds of a feather flock together”?
The presidential debate is covered in another of today’s post. But if you saw the Springfield, Ohio dog eating clip you can expect severe and lasting complications of the desperation disease.
