Let’s just admit it up front. The Republican Party is desperate. They will endorse any idea that they think will gain them more votes than the ones they’ll lose. After realizing that the overturning of the “Roe” abortion option put the GOP in a no-win situation, they tried double-downing with “red” states joining the fray and enacting their own ridiculous laws. That hasn’t worked except to inflame the female voters of the country. Because every mass shooting turns more voters away from lax gun laws (NRA), the GOP is losing voters on that issue as well. The gay community opposes the GOP. Climate change advocates oppose the GOP. A GOP solution to the immigration issue was stopped by Trump. So the only remaining group, the staunch Christians, must be reminded that the GOP is their champion. Hence we have what is obviously a frivolous act by the State of Louisiana. Posting the Ten Commandments in public schools is a clear and direct violation of the US Constitution. And the Governor of Louisiana knows it. But–in their desperation–the GOP sees this move as a reinforcement of their pro-Christian position. The Supreme Court will not hear the case because it is a judicial “no-brainer”. We suggest that penalties be assessed for a direct violation of the Constitution in the form of monetary fines for all court costs plus punitive damages assessed against Louisiana. The entire country should not be expected to pay for the criminal activity of any state.
