Recently the State of Louisiana enacted further pro-choice restrictions by re-classifying two drugs as controlled substances. If you listen to the Louisiana Legislature’s reasoning you begin to see the distorted and dangerous direction that abortion is now taking–at least, in “red” states. There is talk among the GOP candidates that all contraceptive drugs will be restricted or criminalized if Trump and the Supreme Court control Washington after the November election. Trump teeters between 14, 15 and 16 week abortion banning. The supposed “pro-life” Party is willing to destroy a fetus up to 14, 15 or 16 weeks and still call themselves “pro-life”. When you add the fact that only 23 states still support capital punishment and ALL of them are “red” states, it makes you wonder about the disconnect. Further, GOP lawmakers consistently rail against welfare program giveaways that feed the less fortunate. Also, 17 “red” states have turned down the free Federal (no cost to the state) food program for disadvantaged children during the summer hiatus–when school lunches are unavailable. So, to sum it up on “pro-life”, the GOP wants children born but they don’t want to feed or house them; and when they cross the legal line they have no qualms about executing them. Does anyone see consistency? Or do you see a feeble and phony attempt to fool the voters?
