Yes, we’re talking climate again and we will continue to talk climate until someone takes it seriously. Consider the following FACTS: (1) GLOBAL TEMPS IN MARCH WERE 2.43 DEGREES ABOVE THE 20th CENTURY AVERAGE: (2) IN MARCH WE SET THE 10th CONSECUTIVE MONTH WHERE TEMPS WERE THE HOTTEST ON RECORD: (3) EXPERTS ARE PROJECTING 2024 TO BE THE IN THE TOP 5 WORLD’S WARMEST YEARS ON RECORD: (4) WEATHER PATTERNS ARE CHANGING WITH UNUSUAL TEMPERATURE SWINGS. IN WASHINGTON STATE A DAYTIME TEMP OF 80 DEGREES WAS REPORTED–BREAKING THE LOCAL RECORD BY 16 DEGREES.
The main cause of temp increase is Carbon dioxide emission. The US is responsible for putting 400 billion tons of CO2 in the atmosphere with China in second place at 2.7 billion tons. Our expansive and historic industrial revolution has fueled a dominant part of the problem. If America does not effect fossil fuel usage not only will we hasten the negative narrative but also we will be serving as an example to the rest of the world. How can we expect anyone to address solutions if we–the major offender–do not? Make climate control part of your voting decision in November. For the sake of your descendants please vote candidates into positions of authority who might be willing to solve the problem–not merely talk about it.
