If you ever doubted that Trump and Putin are buddies this past week should settle your thoughts once and for all. First, Trump abandoned the entire intelligence community when he was told of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. He chose to believe Putin instead of the FBI, the CIA and other countries intelligence community members. Second, he insisted that the Ukraine Aid bill–now pending in the US Congress–be stopped. He knows that, without US support, NATO allies will probably not stay in the Ukrainian support column. Then, to the dismay of every free world nation, Trump made a very public threat that he would not only NOT support NATO if they hadn’t “paid their dues” (there are NO dues) but also he invited Russia to attack them without interference–if he were president. Make no mistake about Putin’s intentions. He wants to re-unite the 15 Soviet bloc countries that President Gorbachev released in 1991. The day after Trump made his dangerous threat Putin put out a “wanted” list for leaders of some of those separated bloc countries. It was reported that Trump–during his presidency–was talking with Putin about a real estate property development in Moscow–perhaps a Trump Tower or some other business venture. Whatever the trade-off, Trump is willing to sacrifice Ukraine and others–including mainland Europe–to this real estate deal. We think Trump is sending an obvious message to Putin. It reads “make sure I get elected President in 2024 and your worries are over. Give me my profits and you can have whatever you want.” The sooner this kind of talk is silenced–the safer the world will be. Let’s hope the legal system works to convict so we don’t leave our country vulnerable to the Trump designs. There needs to be a global balance of power.
