During his presidency Donald Trump consistently refused to disclose his tax returns–saying he was under audit. He even said specifically on many occasions that “I would turn them over to the press if I wasn’t being audited”. Of course, that was a lie. He was not being audited. So eventually an individual, Charles Littlejohn by name, an IRS contractor, took it upon himself to leak those returns to the press. Last week he paid the price of that action. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined $5,000. In his defense Mr. Littlejohn stated he “acted out of a sincere but misguided belief that I was serving the public”. Now let’s compare that result to the willful theft and hiding of 300 boxes of classified documents. These materials were stolen by Trump, displayed in bathrooms, on stages, in hallways and other unsecured areas of his Florida mansion FOR MONTHS. We saw them with our own eyes. To retrieve them required three demands for their return–the last one a Federally-issued and executed Search Warrant. If the leaking of what should have been made available by the president produces a 5 year sentence and a $5,000 fine, how much more punishment should the violation of classified docs, held unsecured that potentially endangered our national well-being and that of our allies invoke? If we believe “no man is above the law”, “equal justice under the law” (on the front of the Supreme Court Building) and “justice delayed is justice denied”, Mr. Trump should be imprisoned for life and fined the remainder of whatever of his empire remains after the New York fraud trial gets their due. ANYTHING LESS THAN THIS FULLY JUSTIFIED JUSTICE IS A MOCKERY OF ALL THE JUDICIAL BS WE’VE BEEN TOLD FOREVER. If the Florida judge does not compare what Mr. Littlejohn did with his positive motives to what Mr. Trump did with suspicious motives and tries to protect Trump from prosecution, THERE IS NO RULE OF LAW–REGARDLESS OF WHAT ANYONE TELLS YOU.
