As long as we have the USA TODAY newspaper we will have GOP propaganda served to us as bogus fact. We’ve posted articles in the past that this paper has unabashedly published. You may remember the “prominent economist” who opined that the Bidenomics successes would be short lived and we should be on the lookout for problems. What the USA TODAY failed to mention is (1) this economist had worked for Deutsche Bank for 20 years while Trump was its main customer; and (2) this economist was on the White House staff during the Trump years. (We asked for a clarification to be published but that request was ignored.) Now we have two more examples of propaganda. The first was an article that reported that decreasing inflation was bad for the economy. Do we need to explain the folly of this statement? The second article recited that Biden was using his student loan debt program to buy votes. The president has been trying to help students for several months now–not just as we approach the election cycle. Also the dollars that would be paid to the government can now be spent by student debtors on cars, homes, appliances, etc–thereby stimulating the economy and creating even more jobs. This of course will allow the indebted students to improve their overall economic coping abilities. The USA TODAY article suggested that the impact of this program would be to increase the national debt and “someone needs to put a stop to this runaway spending”. The author failed to mention that this program would cost millions of dollars but Trump actually doubled the national debt in four short years. Not only did he spend freely he also granted a $3.5 trillion tax break to his wealthy buddies. That’s partially the reason that the top 1 percent in wealth own more than the entire middle class. So the next time you see any political article in the USA TODAY remember that it is a “media partner” to Fox News–the public relations arm of the Republican Party.
