The most accepted definition of “intelligence” is “the ability to adjust”. Taken literally, when any living brain (human or animal) is presented with a challenge–how well does it adapt…what changes does it make to survive and grow. The rap against the dinosaurs was that they couldn’t adapt to earth’s changes during pre-historic condition evolution and, consequently, they perished. We think that’s a good thing. But today failure to adapt for human beings is a very bad thing. A large percentage of voters voted for Donald Trump in both 2016 (we did) and 2020 (we didn’t). As we approach the 2024 election we find that a large number of voters still favor him despite seeing with their own eyes 300 boxes of stolen classified docs that he tried to hide, hearing his rants to the armed rioters to “go down to the Capitol and fight like hell”, be convicted of rape, receive a “summary judgement” in New York of a $250 million fraud scheme involving all his properties and other transgressions like pardoning admitted and convicted insurrectionists. All or any of these factual occurrences should have convinced intelligent voters that this is not the kind of person we want to have his hand on the nuclear button as leader of the free world. So, why hasn’t it? We are not biased against Trump–“Trumpers” would like to say that. But the honest-to-God truth is he is guilty of so many felonious acts that any sane person with just an ounce of IQ would “adapt” and change. Animals and flowers adapt–why can’t pro-Trump voters see the grift? You know what happened to the dinosaurs…Is it too much to ask that voters deal with the need to “adapt”?
