Now that President Biden has officially ended the COVID health emergency we can report on the preliminary stats. Because the use of vaccines varied widely between states controlled by the GOP and those controlled by the Democrats we will use “red” vs. “blue” states data.
- Blue states had a 29% higher vaccination rate than red states.
- Red states had a 36% higher rate of infections (that is, cases) than blue states.
- Red states had a 19% higher incidence of death than blue states.
In summary, Americans who lived in blue states had a safer environment and a much lower risk of death than those in a red state. Note: this is preliminary data only but is represents approximately 95% of all COVID incidences and therefore seems to be credible.
