We’ve noticed that print media seems to be choosing all the wrong words when supposedly reporting a story objectively. As we’ve said in the past, George Bush visited the battle scene during the Operation Desert Shield action. Putin made a surprise visit to Crimea last week as a morale boost to his troops. But when Biden made an unscheduled and unannounced trip to Ukraine he was characterized as “sneaking in”. Other stories appearing in newspapers suggest that the chosen headlines minimize the real story in favor of what the owners of the newspaper want to say. At first we thought these headlines and story articles were simply poor writing by the author. But now there seems to be a consistent theme to misdirection and prioritizing comments. We happen to live in deeply “red” state area and local news outlets have clearly made the decision to favor their reader’s viewpoints. Sound familiar? Isn’t that exactly what Fox “News” admitted recently. Like Rupert Murdoch said “It’s not about the the red, white and blue. It’s about the green.”. He and his crew are willing to prostitute their reporting efforts to retain viewers. In other words, the tail wags the dog. We tell them what they want to hear. That’s how we keep our ratings and keep our advertisers happy and make our money. To hell with accuracy– it’s all about profit!!! Many people have joked about Internet accuracy but never before have we seen so many respected news sources allow themselves to disintegrate into news whores. They sell whatever sells and damn the truth.
