Surveys and polls uncover interesting insights into our beliefs. Recently a poll was taken asking voters about the President’s efforts to curb climate change. While most Dems support his moves to establish emission controls through the Inflation Reduction Act, re-joining the Paris Climate Accord global committee and promoting tax rebates on electric vehicles, Republicans harshly oppose his work in this area. They say he isn’t moving fast enough or he’s moving in the wrong direction. They say the Paris Climate Accord is unfair to the US so he made a bad decision to re-join. We would ask those same complainers how they think the Trump/GOP would have attacked the problem. In the Trump four years there were no climate control initiatives at all and Trump loudly withdrew from the Paris effort. Do those who criticize Biden simply look for reasons to hang on to the unsupported faith that Trump had a better idea? He did nothing and, despite promising a better plan than the Paris Accord, presented nothing in its place. Tribal instinct: hanging with the party even when the party is totally ineffective; and criticizing those who try to make their lives better. Blind faith or habitual stupidity?
