By now most Republican voters are getting tired of hearing the “Trumpster” bashed. Truth is, the GOP is so splintered that they too want to be done with the “loser” label he has plastered on almost every candidate he touches. The recent “dinner fiasco” was a cleverly contrived mishap that we think Republican leaders engineered. Think about it. Trump sits down to dinner with a known white supremacist and an anti-Semitic performer. News hits the wire services almost before dessert. Several prominent GOP leaders denounce the event. Can you say “set up”? This strategy is designed to separate Trump from his voter base but NOT from the GOP voter base. What better way than to discredit Trump by his own actions? We would not be surprised to see behind-the-scenes support by the GOP to convict Trump of something so that he drops from public view. The next presidential election is a relatively short time away. Trump must vacate the throne soon to allow other candidates to garner national public attention.
