For this round of posting we want to share the wit and wisdom of someone most of you probably never heard of before this “enlightenment”. His name is SAM LEVENSON (1911-1980). Sam was a TV personality back in the 50’s and 60’s. He is also credited as a writer, journalist and, most often, a humorist. His stand-up routine was more a reflection on daily life than on political causes, complaints or other topics. So here, for your review, are some of his quips. Hope you enjoy….
- YOU MUST LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES OF OTHERS; YOU WON’T LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM ALL YOURSELF.
- NEVER LEND MONEY TO A FRIEND; IT COULD DAMAGE HIS MEMORY.
- THE REASON GOD MADE MAN BEFORE HE MADE WOMAN WAS THAT HE DIDN’T WANT ANY SUGGESTIONS.
- LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION. JUST TELL US WHERE IT IS AND WE’LL FIND IT OURSELVES.
- THE CHAPLAIN OF THE SENATE DOESN’T PRAY FOR THE SENATE. HE WATCHES THE SENATE AND PRAYS FOR THE COUNTRY.
- WE MAY NOT ALWAYS SEE EYE-TO-EYE BUT WE CAN TRY TO SEE HEART-TO-HEART.
- WE SHOULD NOT LET PRAYER BE TAKEN OUT OF SCHOOLS. IT’S THE ONLY WAY MOST OF US GOT THROUGH.
- INSANITY IS HEREDITARY; YOU GET IT FROM YOUR CHILDREN.
