Future Football Hall of Famer Tom Brady retired–or did he? After solemnly avowing that his family would be his number one priority his retirement lasted only a few weeks. It is tempting to criticize the man. He seems to want retirement after going out a winner–which he apparently defines as “Super Bowl Champion”. Yes, there is the money to be considered. But Tom has plenty and his world-class model wife Gisele has plenty. This is more than money and we think more than fame. He has that too. We’d like to think that Tom is a throwback (pardon the pun) to a time when men played the game because they like to play football. Someone once said that “to be good at anything you really must like what you’re doing”. Well, Tom is really good at football so we’ll take a wild optimistic guess that he wants to continue to play because he really just likes to play. Tom is living the American career dream. We wish him success, good health and an understanding family. It’s kind of quaint to recognize an emotional attachment to a job–if it can be called that. We should all be so lucky. One individual who isn’t lucky is the guy who bid and won the football that Tom threw for what was supposed to have been his last touchdown. That ball went for $500,000. OUCH!!!!
