The never-ending saga of investigating the former president has caused us to reflect on his misdeeds. Consider just some of the actions he has taken. (1) two impeachments with only the 2/3rds Senate majority rule saving his “you-know-what”; (2) formally advising 8 individuals to ignore Congressional subpoenas and hide relevant documents (you try ignoring a subpoena and see what happens); (3) attempting to extort information against his opponent by threatening to withhold foreign aid from Ukraine; (4) pressuring the (Republican) Georgia Secretary of State to find 11,000+ votes after the votes have been certified; (5) using the “great lie” to generate voting restriction laws in several states; (6) pardoning 8 convicted and admitted felons because they were his supporters; (7) consistently siding with white supremacist groups like at Charlottesville and the US Capitol; (8) sitting by idly and gleefully watching the riotous US Capitol mob destroy the building, injure dozens of federal guards and chant “hang Mike Pence”–his VP; (9) refusing to divorce himself from his business interest while in the White House; and (10) creating 3 sets of asset values to defraud banks (mortgage loans produced a high value), insurance companies (lower values produced lower insurance premiums) and the government (other values to provide tax liability amounts). Our point: NONE OF THESE CRIMINAL ACTIONS HAVE PRODUCED ANY CONSEQUENCE TO THE FORMER PRESIDENT. He is constantly investigated in many courts but NO penalty is ever inflicted. Is this not a perfect example of crime without punishment? How many more times are the TV “talking heads” and the mainstream print media going to shake their collective heads and not get us to the finish line? Crime without punishment is the greatest encouragement to more crime. It’s time to stop the process.
