Regardless of how you feel about it, Joe Biden is the president. He won both the Electoral College count and the popular vote. Despite all the proof that ex-President Trump lost, there are still many who cling to the “big lie” as the Dems call it that he did not lose. For that reason they are placing their bets that Trump will be re-elected the next time around.
Let’s look at the simple math that proves Mr. Trump will never live in the White House again. First, let’s look at the 7 million more votes that Biden received. If we look at the current approval rating for Mr. Biden and note how many Republican voters are included in that tally, the math says Mr. Biden would garner approximately 90 to 95 million popular votes–if the election were held today. If the same number of people who voted last year vote the next time, Mr. Trump would receive only 71 to 76 million votes. If we look at the Electoral College and assume the same state split, Mr. Biden would get at least 322 votes to Mr. Trump’s 216, a difference of over 100 Electoral College votes.
CONCLUSION: All things being equal–meaning both good and bad news for both Biden and Trump over the next few years, Mr. Trump has very little chance of regaining the presidency. The only reason we can imagine that the GOP follows Trump like (lost) sheep is that they have no other party leadership with a bigger voter base. It’s like picking out the most comfortable deck chair on the Titanic as the inevitable happens. We know “dyed-in-the-wool Trumpers” hate this kind of logic but numbers don’t lie and neither does reality—that’s why we call it “reality”. My advice to all Republicans: Take your head out of the sand before the tide rolls in.
